[OC8] Issue #1: Opening Day

Anh stood up, gathering her books together. Once everything was in its place she stood beside Dr. Harrison and admired his gleaming hair, his eyes, and that gorgeous face without trying to be too obvious. Although it was pretty obvious to her and probably a few of the more perceptive teammates that she would follow him him anywhere he wanted and do anything he asked of her without question.

"What...what do you want to do first?" she spoke in that soft nervous voice that she always got whenever she was speaking to her number one idol. "I can go now to the library and look at things...but you are so good at it...I mean...you are you...well of course you're you, but you're the Supreme Intellect...uh yeah you are...." Ahh! God help me from being a such word spaz! He's going to tell you to get lost for sure...aw but he's so nice he wouldn't...

oh Anh you're hopeless.

Treebeard waits for a response from Bruce, but it doesn't come. Hearing the others talk about staking out the stadium, Treebeard melts away and in his place in a nondescript white male with a thick, brown mustache in a security guard uniform, "I could be the point man - watching the people that come in, looking for anything suspicious, you know. Or ..." now the guard morphs into a man with a gigantic beer gut, rainbow wig and John 3:16 painted on his bare chest, "... I COULD BE THE SUPERFAN!!! YEAH, BABY!!!! GO ANGELS!!!!!!!!"

OOC: Okay, folks, I have Prof. Harrison, Anh, and Brandon going to the stadium, Speedy looking into mobility tech, and NE1 portraying Treebeard. :) Caliber is ill (got an e-mail), so Bruce will fade into the background for now while we move forward.

Don't forget the research! :) TSI will go to the library - or wherever else - and do that first, for a day or two.

"Well, Ms. Nguyen, I suggest we hit the books together," Dr. Harrison decided with a smile. "I can only read so fast, after all. Brandon, why don't you head over to the stadium first? That way, if you discover any questions that need to be answered, you can let us know while we still have time to research them."

The book, the sheets, whatever you want.

Any follows Dr. Harrison to his destination of choice, planning to do her very best not to embarrass herself further, but finding it difficult to find voice whenever he's looking at her or talking. Every word he says is committed to memory, every movement to heart.

To hell with schoolwork.

OOC: Are you guys scared yet at what goes on in an 18-year old girls mind? :p

"Alright, then . . . You guys have fun. . . Soon as I'm done being poked and prodded, I'll head over to the stadium." Brandon says to the Doc.

"Excuse me, Lt., do we have badges or anything. I don't want to have to jump through hoops to get into the stadium to look around. Also, do we have any cell phones, pagers, or something like that in case we need to contact the team . . . or you need us?"

Brandon will head over the scientists for further testing, then head over the the stadium for a look around (probably the next day).

"Thanks for the reminder, son," Lt. Liberty replied. "We do have badges and intra-team communicator devices - in my day, we just called them 'walkie-talkies' - for all of you. I'll make sure you all are issued them before you leave. Yours are treated to withstand your powers, Phoenix, but that may or may not hold up in the field. NE1, I'm sure you can come up with somewhere... creative... to put yours. Everyone else should be able to use the general issue."

OOC: Feel free to post any end of meeting actions. I'll be starting the next day's action in a few hours.

Brandon arrived at Edison Field the next day, badge and communicator in hand, to be greeted by a middle-aged, pudgy rent-a-cop. His name-tag read "Bob."

"Can I help you, kid?" asked Bob. "The box office is over there," he said pointing to the left vaguely, "but don't count on getting tickets for Sunday. Sold out."

Anh knocked on Professor Harrison's office door following her morning class. Today they were going to be doing research together. She could only hope that anatomy was on the agenda.

Speedy approached Jack Graham, the team's designated technician and gadget-maker. Jack wore a standard issue Disneyland mechanic's outfit, despite his presitgious post.

"Hey, Speedy," Jack said, "I have a feeling I'll be seeing a lot of you. The rest of the group doesn't look like they could tell a doodad from a widget. What can I do for you?"
