October Errata is up

There's nothing major this time. Surprisingly, they haven't nerfed the many things affecting MBAs still leaving the new Essentials characters with various broken combinations. Its mostly just bringing some feats and powers in line with the new aid other rules in the RC and some Psionic Power and Dark Sun changes.

Edit: Also, nothing to fix the Battlemind or Avenger issues after they were indirectly nerfed through July's errata of Melee Training.

I just noticed that the next errata is only a month away and that it'll include Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms. I suspect that will be the big update we've all been expecting. It seems wizards have got themselves into a bit of a backlog and are just putting things off till next month to get themselves sorted.

Yeah, I was hoping it would be a big one that would help settle differences between Essentials and 4E, and put a stake in the 4.5 arguments.

But no luck.

Maybe next month.

But what about all these things that were not included in the Update Preview, like the changes to nearly all Skills, the changed Skill Challenge Table, checking Cover works now equal for Melee and Ranged (no cover if you melee over a corner) and so on?

If they don't include that in the Update/Errata then the Essentials is really a different Ruleset than playing with the regular PHB/DMG Books.

Take a look at the Compiled Update.

Turns out that "Update Preview" was actually a full update, as those things are all in the Compiled Update.

This update today is just a touch up of that basically.

Yeah I know, but the Preview didn't include the Skill Changes and many other things..

Sorry, but i have yet to see the big difference and big need for errata...

even if a slayer takes the feat to target reflex, he is not overpowered... he choses to use an inferior weapon (rapier is the best one) and pays a feat...

he is not using a fullblade...

I feel that the update was put out just to placate us. If it wasn't, they would have waited until when they could put the errata in Character Builder as well. They probably want to stop the exodus of DDI cancellations because some people nothing is getting done at WotC.

I guess we should be happy that there weren't any arbitrary changes to any rules like Magic Missile. I still have to say that most of the errata was a good thing and I really do not want to see an end to updates especially when there are still mistakes being found.

I guess the biggest thing is I don't want the PHB and PHB 2 classes to be corrected by having new builds. I want the old builds corrected and I was hoping this would be done in the errata.

HoFK has the rest of the races in the PHB in it as well as Drow (WHY?) and Half-orcs. I'm wondering when we would see the racial stat change in the other PHB 2 races. The poor gnome just can't seem to get a break.
