Odd Food Cravings?

Angel Tarragon

Dawn Dragon
Is it possible to eat a food on a daily basis only to start to hate it and then get cravings for it?

I've been eating spaghetti because it is the only thing we have in the house right now but I am honestly sick and tired of it. Thing is I just got a craving, as serious craving for it right now; the kind of craving that comes from your teeth/gums and the stomach. I've never had one like this before. This all seems overly odd to me.

Is this some weird biological & pyschological cross-over affect?

Yes and yes (though it may also be due to a chemical need).

I've often found myself craving hot-dogs even though I am disgusted by them (due to their 'rubbery' taste).

While not revolted by it, I'm a bit allergic to corn.

And I'm constantly craving it- its one of my favorite veggies. Very little beats out corn with a bit of butter on it as far as I'm concerned...until it makes me sick.

My wife is pregnant with what will, hopefully, be our first. She has not real cravings -other than wanting red meat and/or cabbage alot, but she sometimes does that anyway. The one thing she doesn't want is chicken. Just can't stand the thought of eating it. She normally loves fried chicken. (This means that I, of course, AM craving chicken; and get it just about every meal I can when I am not eating with her.)
Also she is very much a foodie but frequently doesn't want to eat at all. She is 4 month pregnant and has, very unintentionally, lost about 8 lbs. The Dr. says thats Ok and keeps expecting her to start eating lots, but so far not.

Are you sure its an allergy? It sounds like it may be a GI thing, depending on what you mean by "sick." If you can talk to a gasterointerologist about it there may be something you can take to prevent or at least ease such symptoms to allow you to partake in moderation without fear.

As long as she's feeling healthy I wouldn't worry about it too much Stormborn. My wife had lost 10-15 lbs by the time she had our first. Of course her cravings were for salad and street taco's so maybe that had something to do with it lol. ;)
