I did that once- it was an ibrandlin (MoF) tho. and yeah- It was a huge monster that decided to just walk over the PCs- AoO and drop down to the ground...
I rules that if they did not move- they would not take damage- you dont know how long they sat there before I made them make con checks (suffocate) and then they started to wiggle- which started the crushing damage...
Just as they were about to die, another player showed up and his char came to the rescue...
I was picturing the ibrandlin just laying down propping his head with one hand, and smoking a joint with the other...with the PCs underneath...
