OGL Wound Points & Vitality?

Check the fine prints and I mean fine, on the first few pages. If you're not sure, ask AEG (with regards to Spycraft and SG-1) and/or WotC (with regards to AEG's use of their copyrighted VP/WP rules content).

And yes, SG-1 is out. I scored myself a copy at my FLGS in Hawaii.

Skull and Bones has a damage system that is very reminiscent of Wounds and Vitality, but IMO even better. In it, after you run out of hit points, you take Constitution damage. Hit points themselves return much faster than in D&D, and the amount recovered depends on your main hit die and constitution bonus. There's also some simple rules for long-term wounds.

I had no idea you lived in Hawaii. I was just there, and my girlfriends' family lives on the North Shore of Oahu.

So, since I am not there now, I'll offer up a secret that I won't be able to take advantage of. There is a hobby store in the big mall at Pearl City. It is your traditional hobby store, not a gaming store (with lots and models and stuff). Buried far in the back of the store, and I mean BURIED, with all sorts of stuff around it that would give you no clue it was there, is a display of miniatures. These are mostly original, OLD miniatures. And, they were on SERIOUS sale (like half of their list price, or less). When I was there, I bought a bunch of older mini's that would be appropriate for d20 Modern. I know they had many others left. I'd go check it out. I had no idea you lived in Hawaii. If you're referring to the one in Stadium Mall, it's gone. So gone, I've forgotten the name, but it's the only place on the island that have Challenger II Ultra Modern Combat Rules (a miniature wargame rules from UK-based Tabletop Games).

But if you're referring to the one called The Original Jelly's near a lounge (or was it a strip club?), it's there.
