I was just sitting here browsing this forum when my cell phone rang. I didn't recognize the number, but I answered it anyway. An obviously prerecorded voice announced "All <meaningless acronym> team members report to building <meaningless number> at 10 hundred hours local." It repeated this a couple of times prompting for a pin between repeats and then hung up.

So, now I'm wondering what the heck that was all about. I assume someone put a wrong number in some sort of auto dialer for notifying people about a meeting but I have no idea who it was or what it was about. I'm having wierd visions of accidentally getting a message from the illuminati or some strange government agency or something. Well, if I disappear I guess it's because I heard the wrong thing or something.

I'm also wondering if I have suddenly aquired the "Wierdness Magnet" disadvantage from GURPS. After all, I found a one eurocent coin lying on the floor at work yesterday -- in the middle of Texas an ocean and half a continent from where they're in circulation.

Indeed! That is most probably it! Cease to post on eNworld altogether, destroy your harddrive, end your current love relationship, and err... Well, it may be too late now, sorry. :uhoh:

Sounds like you have been recruited by the Justice League, or some other superheroes/superspies/superagents. Better answer the call, this could be your one chance.

What's even weirder is that the word "weird" does not follow proper spelling structure and puts the "e" before the "i" even though we all know it's "i before e except after c and sometimes y."

It's a conspiracy I tells ya!

Could I have you attention please. Could everyone please look over here...

MaxKaladin did not receive any unusual phone call on his cell phone. There was never a posting about it on any message boards.

Moderators, please delete this post and then look over here...

:D

Obviously your hypnosis has worn off, Sleeper #626. Please report to the nearest Piggly Wiggly for re-programming and one free icecream sandwich. Tap the eurocent three times to confirm.

I called the number my caller id said the call came from. I got the main switchboard for a local air force base. I hope that meeting wasn't something really important like stopping Dr. Evill from destroying the world or something.
