Okay, here goes ... can I get the stats for a "carp"?

I'm looking for the statistics of a typical fish. I figure a typical fish would range between Diminutive and Small in size. Does something like this already exist, or would it have to be designed from scratch?

There's a Medium size Dolphin the Monster Manual, it owuld be pretty easy to just scale it back to small or tiny size.

May I ask why it is that you need this?

There is a druid in my campaign who wildshapes into a carp all the time, and now I need statistics for it.

I'd think dophins were too smart to be scaled back into carp.

The dolphin (porpoise) statistics really didn't cut it. So I came up with these statistics instead. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

The statistics here can describe any migratory or sedentary fresh or saltwater bony fish, such as a carp or a salmon.

Blindsense (Ex): A fish can locate creatures underwater within a 30-foot radius. This ability works only when the fish is underwater.
Skills: A fish has a +8 racial bonus on any Swim check to perform some special action or avoid a hazard. It can always choose to take 10 on a Swim check, even if distracted or endangered. It can use the run action while swimming, provided it swims in a straight line.

I would have just gotten rid of the rat's disease and replaced it's land speed with a swim speed. You could do the same for small birds substituting fly.

Creating statistcs for animals is essentially creatively altering existing statistics.

I know what you mean. I drew my information from "all" of the aquatic animals. Using the rat a template for all tiny creatures, however, glazes over more details than I think it should. But you did draw my attention to the hit points. I will half them for the fish.

I can't believe that I'm critiquing dnd stats for a normal fish, but I'd say it looks alright.

...a frickin' normal fish...

(shakes head)
