Pathfinder 1E on hold - One by land, two by sea-Pathfinder RPG-OOC

Um, usually in Pathfinder, a racial feature of humans is that they get one extra feat and one extra skill point per level. Are you changing that?

The discussion of favored class bonuses is in addition to any racial bonuses you might get such as the extra skill points and feat of humans. So in addition to the extra skill point, you should select a 'favored class'. Each time you advance a level in that class you get to add a skill point, a hit point, or one of the special racial bonuses from the Advanced Players Guide. As a human fighter your option is:

Fighter Add +1 to the Fighter's CMD when resisting two combat maneuvers of the character's choice.

Which is pretty cool.

Human Fighter, APG Goodies

Just what are these 'combat maneuvers' that I can gain a bonus to my CMD to defend?

I found them! They're hiding beginning on p. 199 of Pfdr Rpg, and they are: bull rush, disarm, grapple, overrun, sunder, trip, feint, mounted combat, throw splash weapon, and two-weapon fighting.

My character will choose Bullrush and Grapple, :) or he would if he was higher level. As it now stands, he will just take the 3 extra hp for 3 levels in his favored class of fighter.

Close - you've got a few on there (Feint, Mounted Combat, Throw Splash Weapon and Two Weapon Fighting) that aren't really combat maneuvers (not the type that you get CMD/CMB bonuses for, anyway, 'cause you don't use CMB/CMD to use them) and you missed a few that've been added with later books.

Here's the list:
  • Bull Rush
  • Dirty Trick
  • Disarm
  • Drag
  • Grapple
  • Overrun
  • Reposition
  • Steal
  • Sunder
  • Trip

Ok, whatever. Those are just the ones listed under Combat Maneuvers in the APG, I wasn't thinking about use of CMD against them, I was just trying to get them all copied down while juggling two books and my laptop while my glasses were balanced on top of my head so I could read. Anyway, it doesn't matter since I decided to go with the bonus hp for all 3 levels in my favored class.

I agree that these bonuses are pretty cool. The problem is that what you give up to get those bonuses is also pretty cool, and, I think more useful to my character. If I could take that option from APG for free, I certainly would.

I consider it good game design when all the choices are desirable. Hit points, skill points and bonuses against moves that can really spoil a fighter's day are all good. At this level I don't think you can go wrong with hit points. I chose a hit point for one of my two bonuses. I also chose a skill point because there was one more thing I thought my character should have some skill in for his background. I expect to take another hit point next level. Since I multi-classed I don't get a bonus at every level. The bonus I get as a half-orc rogue is a little harder to justify since you have to take it three times before you get a full point of bonus. If we were starting at say 10th level, I'd have taken it.

I decided to just go with the Pfdr RPG option for all three levels. Basic fighter all the way for me. The other stuff is cool.but not worth the cost to me.
