Once Upon a Rheim (Erekose13 Judging)

“Nah” replies Nodis. “The man that taught me said that the truly talented can create worlds; compared to that, a table and some chairs are small potatoes. He was a real bastard, though, so I don´t know if he was joking or not. I´ve not met any other with abilities like mine, so I can´t compare. It sucks to be alone.”

"Indeed it does... , we are lucky to find ourselfs in good company."

As Nodis "set up camp", Oirhandir pitched his little elven tent, then took his ease on one of the chairs that Nodis had created. He retrieved a small book that he had acquired in Orussus, and started reading, stopping frequently to pronounce strange words out loud. The others could niether read the cover nor understand the words he was saying.[sblock=Ooc: ]Oirhandir is merely working on another point of Speak Language skill, which he will acquire with his next level. Just some more fluff for this adventure.[/sblock]

Other than the supprised cry of Oirhandir when the chair disapears, the night passes uneventfully.

You travel for 2 more days, and there seems to be almost an absense of traffic complaired to the previous days. At the end of the second day, you arive at the small town of Covington. The Covington fields, which surround the city, seems to be matted down a bit as if there was a large number of people on them for some time, but otherwise the small town seems indistinct other than a sign at the edge that reads:
Welcome to Covington
home of the Fesitaval of Halina

Oirhandir was pleased. "Covington!", he declared. "Only 4 days, and we've made it all the way to Covington. I spent the longest week of my life here, not long ago." Without explaining himself, he continued, "This is as far as I've been, so you might say that our adventure really begins here. You can probably get some supplies as you wish, although it's not a large town." His voice then dropped, and with more than a hint of chagrin, he added: "Ah, I'm known here, but many will be reminded of embarrassing things by my presence. I'd like to know of things that have come to pass since my last visit a few weeks ago, but it wouldn't be proper for me to ask. Please be discreet."

"Well then Oirhandir, perhaps we could ask for you, if you will tell us what and whom to ask. Or did you just want a general idea of how the town has gotten along without Oirhandir" says Kali with an impish smile.

Oirhandir grinned sheepishly. "Ah-ha. Well, a number of the youths in the town ran away from home to join the Freefolk during the last festival. And, uh, one of them was the mayor's daughter. And, uh, one of our team of caravan guards...well, Daphne and Sunny were fond of each other, so he left us to follow the Freefolk as well, which spoiled the wedding. And, uh, another one of our party stayed behind to...uh...cavort with the priestess of Halina in town. I think they might be making little half-orcs as we speak. You know, that sort of thing."

"Let´s not grow roots here meanwhile" says Nodis, waking from his absorption. "A few hours under a roof, eating proper food will be a nice change after six days of rations and blankets. Do you know of any good inn, Oirhandir?"

"Indeed an Inn, some food and more importantly some ale!" Aiken waits expectantly for Oirhandir's answer.

[sblock=OOC]1 I'll discreetly ask around town about the local gossip and specifically about the last few weeks.

2 Buy some trail rations. I take it we used 4 days worth?[/sblock]

Oirhandir started as if to speak, then stopped, closing his mouth to think for a moment. "You know, I don't remember an inn", he pondered. "You see, the last time I was here, there was a great festival, and no inn under the sky could have held that many people. And there was ale, and festival beer, and every sort of food and drink one could want, all for sale. So it never occurred to me to look for an inn."

The elf shrugged. "Well, we might as well see what we can see and buy what we can", he said as he urged Hiriloce into the village.
