Once Upon a Rheim (Erekose13 Judging)

Aiken reenters the inn after dunking his head in some cold water.
"Leave? Indeed, but after some breakfast."

[sblock=OOC]As to Aiken's mind the girl just ran away and there is indeed no mention of foul play he files the mayors quest away as one of a troubled parent.[/sblock]

[sblock=Bront] Bront I'll be leaving for a sailing vacation this Friday and won't be back till the 30th. I don't know if that will be a problem.[/sblock]

"No, we're heading north east actualy, to Fallon," says one of the men. "How's the road heading north? Seems all clear to the south."

They gather up their things, once Oirhandir answers, and grab a quick breakfast before heading on their way.

The sun is just rising as you look outside, and the sky seems clear for miles. It will be a good day to travel.

Indeed, after a hearty meal, you grab your horses, and head on south. A few hours in, you see the road T off to the east, with a sign pointing down it that reads Lathirn with an arrow pointing down it.

[sblock=Oirhandir]You are aware that Lathirn would probably be another few hours from here, but it is not on your way.[/sblock]

[sblock=Corwyn]Take me with you!

That's fine, thanks for telling me ahead of time.[/sblock]

"Clear to the south?", asked the bard. "That is good news, indeed. We had similar fortune coming from Orussus to the north, if you can discount the band of pick-pockets we handed over to the city watch within the walls. May Phyrah smile upon your journeys!"

Oirhandir slowed as the group approached the sign. "Maybe someday I'll visit Lathirn", he mused, "but not today." In a louder voice, he addressed his companions: "Does anyone need to make a side trip to Lathirn? It is not on our way, and I'd as soon be on my way to Rheim."

Almost as an aside, he continued, announcing less and inquiring more. "Ah, now that we've left Covington safely behind, did anyone find news of that village since the Festival? I dared not ask myself, but am curious as to what could be learned."

[sblock=Bront]NP sorry that I'll be missing the week. And I don't think my GF would approve ;)[/sblock]

Aiken turns to Oirhandir "As far as I could make out the town is in fine shape, it's recovering from the festival.
And although people have run away, they have done this before and will again. Nobody was really surprised.
The mayor is a bit disgruntled but that is understandable, parents are rarely the pinnacle of reason where their children are concerned.
But that is just my opinion."

Lupic will get up and eat his fill of suasage and then when the others are ready gather his meagre belongings to continue the journey.

"That depends, is there anything worth seeing in Lathirn? Or woudl we not know that until we have been there? As for the village, Oirhandir do you know an orc named Fang?" asks Kali

"Well, one thing at a time", replied the elf. "I've never been to Lathirn, and about all I've heard of it was that my friend Troi who was raised there and did not love that city. My thoughts were that the only reason for visiting Lathirn now would be to obtain something that was not available in Covington." His mood changed, from businesslike to wistful.

"Ah, yes, Fang", he reminisced. "Finest orc I've ever known. The only orc I've ever known, really. Is he getting on with Hellen? He was when we left him here some weeks ago."

Without any apparent need to stop in Lathirn, the party continues on it's way.

OOC: Keep up the talk, I'll interject things here and there till you arive :)

Nodis remains silent for the most part of the travel, absorted in his own throughts. soft mumbles of "what if...?" and "It could be... nah... perhaps if..."
