One class parties - which would work?

The party I DM for had 3 fighters (out of 5 characters) at one point, and at least 2 people went unconscious every fight. Barties need a healer.

Now the group has 2 warlocks and one is going to change, because curses don't interact well. If the closest enemy is cursed by the other warlock, you can't curse anyone, and if you concentrate fire on a single foe (normally a good idea) one of you is giving up curse damage.

IIRC, the warlock does extra damage to any cursed target, not just the ones they curse personally.

Still doesn't help with pact boons, though.

My friends and I tinkered with the idea of all Bravura or all Tactical Warlord party. Hit once and get 4 or 5 free attacks! We called it "Team A Groove" (based on CAPvSNK fighting game).

Bards would work okay in Heroic levels, but would kick serious butt once they hit Paragon, and everyone gets Agile Opportunist and Melee Training. You could probably get at least a dozen basic attacks each turn with all the sliding going on.

I think either Arcane Power or PHB 2 has a feat to allow for curses to "stack" between warlocks, with an extra penalty on the poor double-cursed bastard.

Now I so want to play an all Bard party!!!
A band having all kinds of adventures, like the Bremen Town Musicians, or the blue guys from Interstella 5555, or what the hell, the Beatles :P

How about an all melee Cleric party?

Cleric 1: I attack with Righteous Brand! I hit!
Cleric 2: I get +4 to attack! I attack with Righteous Brand! I hit!
Cleric 3: The same!
Cleric 4: The same!
Cleric 5: The same!
DM: I quit.

A good example how a Leader can turn everyone into a Striker, eh? ;)

I suppose you would want a class that can project power at range and in melee. You don't want to be screwed when engaging Artilleries or flying monsters, and you don't want to be molested in melee, either.

Bard and Cleric seem to be good choices in the Leader area, though only the new Arcane Power Bard built is really good at ranged combat.
Wizards can actually be competent in melee - provided they have Thunderweave. ;) Still don't like to get hit.

Rangers are a good choice since they also have a mix of melee and ranged builds. Avengers have some ranged powers, but there is focus is still more melee. (Maybe Divine Power will change that?)

I think to have "fun" in the group, you will need a class that has enough build options. The Bard with his multiclassing option is probably the best here. (Of course, isn't multiclassing kinda like cheating?)

I think there's some kind of cooperative curse feat in Arcane Power that would alleviate the curse-clog issue in a warlock party.
