One class parties - which would work?

I like the idea of 5 warlords.

All the warlord action point attack bonuses are non-typed so they stack.

'I spend an action point and get +8 to hit and +16 to damage...'

or

'I spend an action point and if I hit, I get 4 basic attacks..."

In my opinion every leader would work well (even if a little slowly) when multiplied by 5.

I also think that almost any other group (such as 5 rangers) would have an achilles heel. But that was discussed a while ago in another thread.

I think pretty much any would work (PH anyway), though they might be weak vs some fights. Multiclassing is probably strongly desirable for a couple of them. I'll go with 5 warlords best, 5 warlocks worst, though I think the warlocks could be ok anyway with savy players.

I have found 4 peopple with bow rangers in my LFR circle so we are going to try it out soon. We are all level 6 ish so somewhat tricksy. I DMed two of them with Spitting Cobra stance at the same time the other day - that was pretty funny but did not stop one of them getting very chewed up :)

All strikers would probably work very well for any melee striker. Rogues, and rangers can get out of the fray and deal serious damage. Barbarians can simply soak damage and take a potion or KO for the team if they have to. Avengers can rely on defenses and crazy damage output to put enemies down before things get too crazy. Every one of these can handle minions decently. Warlock and Sorcerer parties might suffer a bit for their squishiness.

An all fighter party might work. As each fighter gets wounded, the other fighters can focus on marking while the wounded one focuses on moving away. This allows them to control damage without heals, and fighter damage is close to striker damage. Nice.

An all warlord party would be very fun! Each member could feel like they are contributing to the whole team (he only hit because of that +1 I gave him) while still feeling like they are personally very powerful (look at all the damage I do with these buffs). Every action point spent would be a book keeping nightmare. I think they would probably get flanking every action.

An Assembly of Avengers?

I don't think that I could stay upright after the first time that I heard someone shout "Avengers Assemble!"

Rangers would work fairly well but regardless of what class was chosen, a little multi-classing would be necessary for good play. Certain attributes would need to be sacrificed making some characters less than optimal, in order to get reasonable skill levels in some of the necessities. It would also help to have a ritualist of some sort.

Ultimately I think the people saying that a Bardic party would be the best are right.

Hmmm... I think most classes would do well on their own, the all-strikers party would be very swing-y for the most part, I like the swordmages idea... an eladrin assaulting swordmage.... hmmm fun times.

I would imagine the controllers would have the hardest time of it, although if they can apply enough status effects and keep at range it might be ok. Depends on terrain. I'd think wizards would fare the best, as they could toss at least 1 daily per fight with that many wizards.
