One Class

Ok, one comment, I, as some of you know, have always been in favor of the one class system, however that doesn't change the fact that this thread belongs in the House Rule forum, ok?

Did you put a HD type or did I miss it?

It doesn't matter in the slightest as long as you scale everything to fit. But, I think it would probably d4 to improve with feats and such.

Edit: no silver, I need the silver! Hmm... silver

This thread, as others have said, should be in the House Rules forum. Proposed changes to the rules belong in the House Rules forum, not the General RPG forum.

LOL!

Yeah I think a one class version is really the direction the game should head in if they make another edition, the playablity of the d20 system is great, a one class system would really let you be free to do anything with your character though, the trouble is designing it so it works well and making it keep the flavor of DND is not an easy thing.
I've checked out stuff like (de)liberation and they just don't seem to work right yet.
I like your idea though Monkey Master.

It does infact matter a great deal and that's what most people don't seem to understand.
Changing HP impacts the game a great deal and the way you design the HP system in your class is going make or break your idea.
Like how would the HP feats work?
Take a feat chain and your HD is now X?
That makes things like Wizards even stronger then they are now.
Think the problem over for a while.
The other problem is many ablities may only worth a fraction of a feat, how do you work that out to make it balanced?
Not all problems may be fixable with a feat system.

Okay! I get the point. I suppose the only way to move a thread is to delete it and make it again?
No, Scott already moved it.
Don't worry about it, you couldn't move it if you wanted to.

I read your post, and wondered about it, I scrolled up to the top and it said: "EN World - d20 News & Reviews > D&D/d20 System Forums > House Rules > One Class", it was the freakiest thing ever, awesome. Sorry guys, I thought House Rules was for rules you had done.

In response to other things (I don't remember exactly what was said), I think a one class D&D system would have to be able to exactly duplicate all the D&D Classes exactly, the fun is in the variety of a classless D&D, not in a new RPG altogether. I am not sure that came out how I wanted it to... moving on.

There should also probably be an NPC class that duplicate NPC classes.

So, since we are now on the House Rules board, we can work on this for real, the first step would probably be to make a class that with the right choices could exactly duplicate a fighter with no extra abilities or powers (or we would have to rework monsters, too).
