One of my Proudest moments as a DM

Gospog

First Post
I have been a DM/GM for a long time. I've enjoyed fantasy and sci-fi miniatures just as long. It's really great when my two hobbies come together (such as in most D20 games).

Anyway, I always like to convert or sculpt a custom miniature for each Player Character in my games. It may not always be a perfect match, but I like to come as close as I can to what the player (and I) envision for a specific character.

This past Monday, we introduced a new player to our Iron Kingdoms game. I asked the current five players to tell "the new guy" what thier characters look like. One by one, they pointed to thier converted and painted miniatures on the board and said "I look...like this."

I tell ya...that is a good feeling. :)

-Pictures, please. :D

(I would love to be able to do that. I try to come up with stuff to bring to the table, but sculpting you player's characters... That is so cool!)

Sure!

I will try to have some pictures posted by tomorrow (working 12 hour shifts might move that to Friday, however).

Elrik DarkFury...what song?

Anyway, the pics are below. Feedback always appreciated (almost as much as I appreciate my players). ;)

Note to Mods: I tried to keep the file size down this time, honest. The only challenge was Falka, because of his spread-out pose. Thank you for your understanding. :)

First we have Cecily, the War Bard. Her player wanted to play the pipe organ as an instrument, so I converted a Reaper miniature by sculpting a portable pipe organ onto her back...

Next is Aerist Atraeyu. Aerist defeated the Rontor, the sacred beast of a group of Bog Trogs. She still wears it's skull on her helmet (I sculpted it). She also wields Frost Fang, the icy greatsword, so I glued icicles to the hilt, and sprinkled snow on her base, under the sword.

Third is Beltek. His mini is pretty straightforward. I used a MageKnight miniature, giving it appropriate weapons. Easy. ;)

Next is W0ss, the Gun Mage. This model was never converted, as he is already holding his pistol (one of two) and his Keen Longsword. This is a miniature my wife painted years and years ago. A good match.

This is Flaka the Iosian elf Wizard. No conversion to this Chronopias Lotus Eater, just a particularly striking color scheme. (and a slight adjustment to his cape, nothing to write home about).

Finally , this is Iron Grip, the Ogrun Fighter. I bought this mini in the early 90's (painted it then as well, can you tell?) ;)
If this player stays with the group, I will probably sculpt him a proper mini, holding an Ogrun Warcleaver.

So, that's it. That's the group. They're great players. Seriously.

Great Minis!!!!
I really like the whole "conversion" idea.
Too bad no one in my group is crafty... We consider painting the Minis a painful pleasure (and it's even more painful for the poor mini... :( )
