randomling: I know I wouldn't mind you asking for advice here or there. Though that's just me, can't speak for everyone else :p

Micheal: I know it might be a little earlily to ask, but is the adventure going to dungeon oriented? I ask cause I am going to go with the halfling paladin, but thinking of taking the halfling out rider prestige, and it would be kinda stupid to take the prestige if all we ever do is go in dungeons (unless you'd be nice enough to give me a gaint lizard as a mount  )

Thank you, Ivellious! :) Still working on character-concept stuff, but I'm going to have a look at the Core PrCs and see if anything inspires me...

@Ivellious/Everyone: I'd caution you against making a character too handicapped, e.g. a Bard with reduced Charisma, because whatever adventure I run, I plan for the enemies to be viciously run, and for combat to be difficult and exciting. A halfling Paladin, on the other hand, seems that it could overcome its difficulties without too much trouble.

@Voidrazor: Make sure you read up on the polymorph eratta before constructing a druid.

If Ivellious is allowed to dip into both Halfling Outrider (CWar) and Beastmaster (CAdv), a halfing paladin could be a pretty strong choice.

The most recent polymorph rules are the ones explained in Polymorphing Revisited right? If so I'm pretty familiar with them (physical stats but not HPs change, subtype but not type changes, items meld if worn, etc.).

Hello,

I have newly returned to rpg's and would like to take the chance to delve in once again. Would you have an aversion to someone who is trying to re acquaint himself with the rules?

Although I have most of the WOTC books (and others) up to dat it has been a while since I played.

I would favor a character of divine ability maybe a Cleric/Paladin of Latrhander or Pelor possibly a Fist of Raziel if allowed, possibly a half celestial if feasible.

I generally enjoy deep immersion storytelly with a lot of character development. Combat is great but I do like to get into character.

I am not familar with most of the current published adventures but fighting fiends and undead is always of interest to me. Maybe something planar? Basedin Sigil?

What about one of the Malhavoc Press books for a bit of a different twist on things?

Voidrazer: I know the halfling outrider, but I've never seen the beastmaster (I have Cwar, but not CAdv) So I'd just stick with the Halfling outrider paladin

Randomling: You should do a halfing sorcerer and become a dragon discple or be a bard and be more combat ortiented (In love with the halfling at the moment.)

You know what? I don't think I've ever played a halfling in 5-odd years of D&D. And it's ages since I've played a sorcerer. That sounds like enormous fun! :)

Although maybe a gnome would be even cooler... hmm.... I have little experience of playing Little People.

In terms of game style, I really enjoy character development and storytelling, but a good dose of kicking butt never went astray either. ;) Seriously, I like a good mix of RP and hack-and-slash. I tend to prefer games that are towards the "dark" on the dark-to-Disney scale, and a touch grittier than average, but not, you know, blood-and-guts-and-heroin gritty. :)

Randomling: If you like the background stories, then you should go bard. You can have tons of fun with their histories (You can with just about anything, but bards do it with class  ) Only reason why I said more combat oritent is because they get to actually cast spells in lower classes of armor with out arcane speel failure. That, and they get a better bab rate. Though I know what you mean about a good mix of rp and hack-n-slash. You get a good mix, and I'll be hooked till the end of time ;)
