One piece of advice...

If you could give one piece of advice, be it serious or silly, what would it be? (I want to compile a list for reasons I don't fully understand.)

Probably depends on what you do, I imagine.

DO: Inject heroin with HIV-tainted needle.
DON'T DO: Give to charity.

Hmmm...in that case I think I'd regret the things I did more than those I did not. Unless you switch it like this:

DO: Refuse to give to charity.
DON'T DO: Inject heroin with clean needle.

Hmmm...this gets complicated.

;)

Serious:
Bruce Lee (Enter the Dragon said:
It's like a finger pointing away to the moon. Don't concentrate on the finger, or you will miss all the heavenly glory.
IMHO, this is very broadly applicable.

Silly: Read the Evil Overlord list and pay attention. This, too, is very broadly applicable. :)

If someone shouts "Duck!", assume they want you to avoid something, rather than look at waterfowl. Embarrassment wears off quicker than decapitation.

I have two too:

1) Learn another language. Whether modern, ancient, obscure or world-wide, it doesn't matter which - just learn to think in a different way.

2) Learn maths. Seriously, once you know de Moivre's theorem, some basic calculus and some probability, most of the world will make sense.
