OOC: Sounds good!

Mister Bubbles nods in appreciation as Nidar offers the group a boat.

"My sincere thanks," he says with a shy smile. The half-orc then gets in the vessel, cautiously as it rocks more than he expected, then takes a seat.

With an uncertain look at the oars and then his companions, Mister Bubbles asks timidly, "Who's going to row?"

“I’ll row,” Ivar said, clambering into the boat and taking a seat at the oars. While dwarves didn’t usually like water, Gracklestugh was situated on the Dark Lake, so he had some experience rowing and navigating that dangerous body of water

Once everyone was settled, Ivar shoved off.

Bilkar follows the group outside waiting for the larger members of the pack to get in the boat before getting in himself.

"Island is that way yes." Bilkar confirms with their ever so gracious hosts before setting out.

Oh boy...

As they set out Bilkar looks at the water and spots a fish that he is not familiar with, his attention being completely consumed by it for a moment. As he looks up again when the fish swims off a look of terror can be seen on his face and he starts looking around frantically, head darting from one side to the other.

"NO! Bilkar lost, Bilkar not swim! Stupid Bilkar sorry. Don't hurt Bilkar." His face contorts into a truly pitiful combination of fear and sorrow like that of a dog expecting to be scolded.

Lee looks at the clear lake water and wishes she could take a quick swim. Instead she focuses on the task at hand, keeping a lookout for anything unexpected.

The Lake of Steam is large and soon the group finds itself out on the water with the village barely a line of land on the horizon behind them. Looking forward the group sees no landmarks, but Lee does notice something that may led to their quarry.

"Head towards the mists," she says to Ivar. The dark dwarf grunts as he pulls the oars about a bit to point the prow straight at the strange patch of fog.

Inside the sun is muted and the fog limits visibility to a few hundred feet. Which is enough to see the looming cliffs that jut up out of the water signalling you have reached the Isle of The Lady.

“Someone calm tha’ damn gnome doon b’fore ‘e upends us all!” Ivar growled as Bilkar started to panic.

It took quite a while, but soon they were rowing into the mists surrounding the cliffs of the Island of the Lady.

“Keep yer eyes peeled f’r a guid landin’ spot,” Ivar told them, turning the boat parallel to the shore once they got to the island, searching for a place to put ashore.

Bilkar forces himself when he hears Ivars words, which he takes as a subtle threat.

"Bilkar find island." He says chest puffed out, in an obvious attempt to save face.

The dark, sheer cliffs of the island rise menacingly out of the calm waters of the lake. The air is perfectly still, yet the mists slowly swirl around you. Not a sound is heard or a creature seen in the strange twilight caused by the fog.

As Ivar pulls the oars they are the only sound as the cliffs drift by getting smaller and smaller as you make your way to the other side.

Here the island's facade of sheer cliffs gives way to a stretch of rockstrewn beach. The rotting remnants of a boat dock stick out into the water from the shore, ending in wooden pillars jutting up out of the dark waters. On the beach you see the forms of three similar boats. Two a old wrecks, their wood long since rotted, and one that looks to be in usable shape.

Ivar puts in near the good boat and and the group can disembark without getting their feet to wet.

OOC: The beach is mostly small smooth stones. The "grassline" is really only a rocky area with a few low hawthorn bushes and scraggly trees. i.e. not much cover for the group

A path heads off into the mists away from the beach, but it is hard to see where it leads.

Perception checks as you think up a marching order for me please.
