One year ago, this very day

Well, one year ago this very day I killed our well - it were a Sunday (looking at the calendar) as it is today. And me family, bless them, were away to an Irish Dance affair for the weekend (looking around the messy house) as they are today. And I was being all noble and doing the laundry, and I managed to kill the well. Well, not the well, but the impeller on the jet-pump it was. It took two weeks to get a new pump installed and get water back to thee ol' homestead.

And by then the pipes and tanks, they was contaminated with iron-eating bacteria that do leave a nasty red smudge.

So we been drinking from water of bottles for the past year.

Because I am a lazy sod.

But today, instead of doing laundries for my lovelies, I have decided on a more handy pursuit.

It be time for the shock disinfection of me well.

I'll be darned. The job be done wi' a wannion, the water it be smelling o chlorine.

But wouldn't you know, that son of a biscuit eating well, he has another trick in store for me today. This time, the water, it be coming up brown with silt and sediment. It looks like we be using bottled water yet again for some time, and I'll have my excuse to drink naught but grog.
