Enemy actions are finished up. The reavers were "surprised" that round.

The only actions the enemies were able to take was... being restrained and casting armor of agathys.

Creamsteak, could you label the rounds for us as they start and/or end? I don't know about the others, but it would be helpful to me to be able to see where we are in rounds as I read through the IC.
So far, the group init thing seems to be working well.

I am having a pain of a time finding rules on whether they use center point or any point to calculate vision, or something else. I think you can see her, from corner to corner. I'm not positive if there is a better rule.

Steve_Gorak : don't attack Grimjaw while he's abjured; I think that breaks the frightened effect!

Dent will take a five foot step just to make sure he can see the woman. And, yes, please don't attack Grimjaw just yet. I'm drafting a post in which Dent says that, give me a half a moment, please.

EDIT: OK, I'm done with battlefield control for the moment. I've had Dent freeze Grimjaw, and for Round 2, I had Dent cast bane, targeting Grimjaw, the reaver in S10, and the blue-skinned woman. I'm not planning any additional battlefield control type actions. From here on out, Dent will focus first on attacking and eliminating the reavers. He'll make sure Grimjaw stays in view. After the reavers are dead, we should still have enough time to square off against Grimjaw and (hopefully) take him down en masse.

My reading of the rules is that there isn't a surprise round. You can be surprised during the first round of combat, which means you can't take an action or a move. I could be misunderstanding something, but that's what I came to from reading discussion of the assassinate ability.
