(OOC) D&D 3.5 - Paridon: The Dark Metropolis (Ravenloft)

By the way, this is the full extent of Darian's condition. Darian gets a permanent +2 bonus to Sense Motive and Gather Information rolls (usually by running commentary), but meeting his gaze is now painful--or at least uncomfortable.

As for Fr. Berman's expertise on the subject, Ezraite doctrine says that it is wrong to do what is not expected of you, because to give into temptation and shirk your duty is to invite the darkness into your soul. There are many interpretations as to what this means, but the Fatalists consider this as the reason that rituals and obligations are important to leading a charmed life--if you do what is right, then only right things can occur. Evil acts turn a person to evil, and eventually, they can transform into monsters.

Ah, dopplegangers!

There are rumors of their existence. In fact, one of the more common conspiracy theories among the disenfranchised is that the entire upper echelon of Paridon has been replaced with dopplegangers. Some would even say that the entire police force is nothing but dopplegangers used to keep the people in line. That's how Fr. Berman knows this isn't true, since he is not a doppleganger himself.

Fr. Berman can safely say that he has never met a single doppleganger in his time on the police force, either posing as a policeman or as a criminal. There can always be a first, though.

Sorry to hijack the thread for other business, but..

... now back to our regularly scheduled program. ;)

I've just got Bo9S and PHB2, so I'll be revieweing the classes for acceptance.

I never knew the Beguiler was quite so cool... (No, I'm not restatting Alek.)

Great arguments regarding what to do with Alek, though. Lots of fun.

Let me know what you decide on those books. I statted up a duskblade for another PBP game starting here, but I'd love to give a Swordsage or Crusader a try if you allow them.

Who's got the key to the masks? I remember Alek giving them to someone, but I'll be damned if I can find it. I just don't want to go posting about unlocking a mask if the key is in someone else's pocket.

*Edit*

Found it. Apparently Ru and Torhan had the keys. Guess maybe that'd be a good way for Ru to keep his on on Darian... bring him the key. ;)
