[OOC]House of Hell[CoC/FF]

This is gonna be a long post, I can feel it already.

Just wanted to say that there might be a bit of Cthulhu Mythos stuff involved. Not much, but at least a little bit... So I changed my mind as I've been setting up the layout of the places you'll be visiting.

I wanted to comment on how three different areas work in terms of game mechanics/die rolls. I was originally going to roll everything, but it might be more fun to let you guys do it.

1) Attacks: You can always roll your own attacks. If you don't have a d20 die, try Irony or just let me know that you want me to roll for you.
2) Saves/Sanity: I will always roll saves and sanity checks for you.
3) Skill Checks: Ok, about skill checks. Two types, checks you are unaware of and checks you call actively:

Passive Checks

-That is, checks you don't call for.

-Throughout the game, I'll be doing passive checks, which are hidden from you guys. Most often these will be of the spot/listen variety, but others come into play as well, especially knowledge, sense motive, etc.

Active Checks

-I'll let you roll most of the active skills checks yourselves. Just assume that you can roll it yourself when you post(make the request OOC in your IC post, but also describe what you're doing IC). In some situations, even if you haven't actively called the check, there might be some aspects of your IC description that make a check obvious or warranted (this might be a good option for Master_Pugs, if you just want to say what you are doing/trying to do without being bogged down by stats).

-Some active checks that you CAN'T roll for yourselves are: Cthulhu Mythos, Knowledge, Research, Search. For reasons of storyline, these need to be kept hidden. That's all I'm gonna say, as that's a bit of hint already.

-Some active checks which you can always roll yourselves(note that some of these, like Sense Motive, are most often used passively and for slightly different reasons than active checks): Balance, Bluff, Climb, Diplomacy, Disable Device, Escape Artist, Heal, Hide, Innuendo, Intimidate, Jump, Listen, Move Silent, Open Lock, Psychoanalysis, Repair, Sense Motive, Spot, Swim, Tumble, Use Rope). I'll be keeping the DC or opposed rolls hidden, though.

err, that was odd, the previous post didn't bump the thread up to the top of the list, so BUMP.

Edit: nevermind, looks like they're aware of the board weirdness.

Hey guys where is everyone? Just making sure we are still running this thing. Don't back out on me now!

Ah, the curse of PbP strikes again. Seriously, I've been involved in about 8 games, and they've pretty much all died in one way or another or are in life support, in the several months I've been on these boards. There's got to be a better way to do this...

Seriously... I've been coming to ENWorld back when it was still Eric's but have never tried the PbP. Finally I try a PbP and the first game was the previous CoC game that we were both in that died before I could even join heh. My other game was D&D which died a little over a week ago right before the first battle. So right now this game is the only currently active one I'm in besides trying to get a Vampire game and a new D&D one off the ground (Hopefully this week). Just got kinda scared that things might have died off here. Kyle seems to have disappeared on us. Hopefully he's still around somewhere, I know he's running a game of his own last I checked. So what do we do? If you remember my special case, I'm always the DM for everything I run in RL, I never get a chance to be a player so these boards were to be my salvation but they are quickly becoming more trouble then they are worth to roll up a character and fit him out with a background and then have the game die before you gain a single experience point, lol.
