I'm going to open a new thread in the MotP. It'll belong to a mercenary party where no one belongs to a standard race. {Yes, Myrranthor and NME, this means you:smirk:, though everyone else is wellcome as well} Once we have 7-8 participants, the adventure will begin. Afterwards, new players who may join will have theyr characters join at the begining of the next adventure {no entrances in the middle of a mission}. Anyone who thus joins is asumed to have been a part of the mercenary group for a while already, so no IC introductions to eachothers aren't needed.

This thread will have multiple small adventures, each consisting of a "mission" {id est the group being hired or recruited to do something}, and each such adventure will be DMed by another of the players. I'll be the first, but after the first adventure, i fall back and play, while someone else, who plaied a character while i Dmed, will DM in my stead. The one who DMs has his character stay behind during the mission he DMs

The characters are assumed to know each other atleast as colleagues, but at the players' discression may either be closer than that or not. All allignments are allowed, but the characters are assumed to be interrested, due to one reason or another, in remaining part of the mercenary group. THis doesn't mean they can't hate other members, but they won't openly act against the group. The party won't have an official leader, so power struggles within the group are possible and expected.

  1. Regulations:
  2. Character may be of any race EXEPT the following: Human, Halfelf, Elf, Drow, Dwarf, Gnome, Halfling, any shapeshifter constantly pretending to be one of the above.
  3. For incase you were pondering, templates are ok.
  4. Basic char info should be posted here. It includes name, race, class/es, levels in it/them, allignment, minimal appearance description {write "typical for his kind" if you really don't want to}, minimal bacground and/or personality description.
  5. Any additional info about the char is very incouraged {and will add to the flavor and quality of the roleplaying}, but is NOT required as a must.
  6. Total level may not exceed 20.
  7. Summ of levels in base {non-prestige} classes may not exceed 15.
  8. All must read before posting.
  9. All must generally make sence in theyr posts.
  10. There is no actual time/frequency limit, but please try to post atleast once a week.
Everything exept the two lines in red is a directing line, rather than a rule, and is thus bendable to some extent.
  1. DMing Recomendations:
  2. This is mostly freeform, and no dice is required. The DM may use dice if that's more comfortable for him, but don't tell the players to.
  3. Damage and other things that take effects on a character should be told to him, either in an ooc note or in a PM, much as you'd do in a normal tabletop game. That's to avoid misunderstanding betuin DM and players.
  4. You can either grand xp basing on roleplaying, creativeness participation, et c, or just tell a player when, and wether, his char gains a level. In either case, only do that at the end of your adventure, or on some major milestone in it.
  5. Penalizing is ok for lack of roleplaying or lack of attention, but NOT for low post frequency.

I know these requirements are a little less freeformish than most would expect, but i felt like opening such a game, and i immagine some would like such a setting.
Every DM, on his turn, is free to throw the party anywhere. Any material world can be reached through lplanar travel and spelljamming, and any plane of existance can be reched through the former. However to maintain sence, each adventure should start where the last one ended.

PS:
almost forgot, when you post your char here, suggest a name for the mercenary group. This way when we have 6-7 people, we'll have a good array to choose from.

I'm new so I don't know if you want me or not.I have a half-dragon cleric, but all I know is Greyhalk, and what I know of it is little.I just know how to play.

I also am VERY BAD at DMing.

If you want to include me on this,I can give you a description.

Thanks!

Halfdragon is a template, what's the base creature? Baiscly though, you're very wellcome. The setting this will be going in is Dyverside, but you don't have to know anything about it. If your char is assumed to know, you can solve this by periodically asking me things via PM or in this OOC thread.

hell, make a new char, make him an ogremage half bronze dragon, or something.

Btw, debbie, perhaps addin your char some kind of a template to make it less manlike would be a god idea {or not}.

Cassy sat at the table sipping a glass of water, her cloak was pulled around her giving her a shapless form. The cowl was pulled up hiding her hair and casting a shadow over her face. The candle flickered as a slight breeze teased the flame.

She had been at a loss for a while now moving around from place to place aimlessly. Her mind drifted to past years. The sound of laughter as she had taught her young charge how to handle a sword. Memories of seeing the spirt crushed out of the girl when she had married till all that remained of the free spirted girl was a timid mouse. Of the arguments Cassy had with her employer, till he had dissmissed her, saying that the marriage had bought wealth to the family and that his daughters welfare was no longer any concern of hers.
Cassy had picked up her rapier and walked out and had carried on walking from place to place, never staying any where for long. Until she had come across an old bard, a smile came to her eyes as she thought fondly of all he had taught her.

The voices were becoming more raised in the room as the night wore on, a glass smashed and angry words were said. At the sound of steel being drawn, cassy began to sing in a soft voice. She opened her mind and "looked" at the souls by the bar. Her song began to filter over to them bringing a kind of calm. One man rubbed his head another looked a little confussed. So many souls filled with worry and hatred, she remembered how being able to see so deep into some one had almost driven her mad, exept that Istin had been there to guid her through. Soulwarded, he had called it. She couldnt read thoughts it was some thing much deeper than that, some thing she was still learning about.

The serving girl came over and took the empty glass, pulling her hand away quickly when she brushed agaist Cassy's cold skin. Cassy stood up and tossed a few coins on to the table, a breeze made the serving girl shiver as she watched the figure leave.

Cassy stood out side and allowed the cowel of her cloak to slip down. The wind caught up the long untammed locks of blue and silver hair, the feel of air moving agaist her skin bought a slight smile to cassy's mouth and a glint to her silver eyes. She slipped her cloak off fully, the wind pulled at the flimsy garment that clad Cassy's body threatening to add new tears in to the all ready patched gown.

While riches held no meaning for her the pull of adventure did. The moon glinted on the silver rapier at her hip, picking out the gracefull markings upon its surface. She picked up her cloak and set off down the path, she began to sing in a voice that was in harmony with the wind.
