OOTA - Isn't Bruenor Battlehammer dead?

OOTA is supposed to take place around 1490DR but all the research I've done indicates King Bruenor Battlehammer died at the hands (talons?) of a balor while trying to contain the Primordial in 1462DR. Yet there he is on his throne in the OOTA module ready to hand out quests. Can anyone help me understand what's going on? Was he resurrected?

I believe he, and the rest of The Companions of the Hall (save Drizzt who was allready alive) were reincarnated as part of the events of The Sundering in a recent R.A Salvatore novel.

There was 2 series of books. One was for 4e with Drizzt hooking up with some more evil types and trying to convert them. The other was the transition to 5e with Lloth and Meleki (sp) fighting for Drizzt's soul. In that series the others were reincarnated to help him. They were both good reads.
