OOTS 388 is up

Personally I would have called Gau the most useless character. Or possibly Umaro but I think Gau was worse. Mog was pretty danged tough if you learned to secret to getting his most powerful dance.

Final Fantasy 3/6j has no connection to leprecauns, although it has "The Opera Scene" which I consider one of the most transcendant moments in Gaming history.

Thankfully it was from the only version of Final Fantasy I ever played. FFII from Super NES - or at least, that is what I know it as. :)

For my part, I never played Final Fantasy much (except for one of the really early ones on my brother's gameboy which I might have got 1/3 of the way through). I was able to get at least a little bit of the joke though. It's funny as long as Rich doesn't make a habit of it.

So, to guys who know Final Fantasy: do leprechauns figure in it somehow?
Not in the slightest.

Then again, this is Thog we're talking about. Consistancy of message isn't really his bag.

...ooh! Rocket skates!

Another great strip. As for the FF elements, I've enjoyed the series since FF1 first came out in America. Granted, I tend to view FF8 as my favorite (closely followed by FF9 and FF6). FF7 - and FF4 and FF10 - tend to fall behind these - although no where near as far behind as FFX2 or FF11 (which I didn't even bother buying) or FF2j or FF3j (which I have never had the chance to play). I tend to rank FF5 at about the same level as FF1 and FF: Mystic Quest - something to do to pass the time, fun but not too deep.

All that said, I'm still curious how the Leprechaun costume fit into their journey. Also, if they were tossed off the air ship, how did they manage to reach Azure City in time?

Well, I say thumbs up to more Thoggy goodness, but thumbs down for choosing now to base half the strip on obscure references.

Which is amusing, since OotS started out based pretty much entirely on obscure references (to D&D rules).
