How did Thog get 3 iterative attacks? That implies a BAB of at least +11 and I didn't think anybody in the strip was that high, Rich Burlew has publically stated he considers the order to be levels 6-8. Or does Thog have a feat I'm missing?

The leprechaun costume features Irish Stepdancing Boots of Speed. :D

Right. V is scribing spells that are above what a 6-8th level PC could.

Mouseferatu: Haley is at least level 9, so she has iterative attacks (else she would NOT have Manyshot). She also has Rapid Shot (again, else she would NOT have Manyshot). So, she's shooting two arrows instead of (at least) three, and she's only doing Sneak Attack damage once.

With Rapid Shot, she'd find out which arrow hurts Sabine. But I don't think she has that option. I think she did a Move action (open door, walk out) and then a Standard action (Manyshot), which also serves the comedy and plot nicely, since so long as she's forced to use Manyshot, she will never find out which arrow hurts Sabine.

Maybe I'm taking the rules of the comic too seriously... but Rich seems to have a good enough grasp on them to actually use them for plot and comedy, and that's cool. :)

Cheers, -- N

One of them could be an AOO, since Haley is using a ranged weapon (and since Thog never moves from where he's standing while he hits her with the door, it means she's in his threatened area).

It's almost two years since I last played D&D, and my rules knowledge is quickly declining, but can you even threaten someone with an improvised weapon (a door)?

Well, now we know a bit more about Thog. He has three attacks and can hit Haley with every one of them - even with a penalty due to using an improvised weapon. Granted, she was flat footed so the penalty probably did not hurt all that much.

Great comic. I liked how thog surprised Elan in attacking haley.

If you have a half-orc in a leprechaun suit waving a door at you, wouldn't you feel threatened?

And on a more rules-related note, the answer is "Yes." Using an improvised weapon doesn't prevent you from threatening an area.

Improvised weapon is still a weapon, thus it threatens. Heck, if he grabbed a curtain rod or something, he might even have had reach.

More importantly, we have a perspective!

Since the party and their evil opposites are approximately the same level, and thog just dealt three attacks... They are at least 11th level, but not more than 14th level (otherwise, thog would have managed FOUR iterative attacks)

So, what does this mean? Well, i assume Evard's Spikey Black Tentacles of Forced Intrusion is a 5th or 6th level spell,
