Old SNL character. Pat was of ambiguous gender. The whole skit was about everyone trying to figure out if s/he was a man/woman. Pat's significant other was Chris, also impossible to tell.

Maybe not funny in the "haha" sense, but the last bit made me chuckle. Same chuckle I use when the players/PCs experience that "We just worked it out and ... we ... are ... screwed" look

That was my reaction too - the evil chuckle of a DM whose players have just realized what he's done to them. I too had totally forgotten about the dragon until the last panel, and so I think I was even more amused by it than I would have been had I remembered it.
