[OotS 444] Does he have the X's in his eyes?

I wonder if the side effects of Roy's sword might come into play? Suppose he were to rise as an undead?

That i doubt. Deadly green energy that is particularly harmful to undead does not sound it will spawn undead.

Maybe some con damage or drain...

Speaking of spawn, were the death knight's troops ghouls, ghasts or wights? if they are wights, things may get bad really fast. Hell, a quick drain on anyone, stabilized or dying, means a new wight in a few rounds.

Finally Durkon gets some screentime in this battle. He may not be swinging an axe, but he certainly does have the stereotypical dwarven view on death in battle. I'm sure after the battle, Durkon would take a moment to raise a tankard to salute Roy's valor.

As for Roy, I don't doubt for a moment that he's going to come back from the great beyond. But not before we get some strips with Roy having a chat with his dad, and perhaps even grandpa and great-grandpa. I for one would like to see them chew out Roy's dad for not following the family tradition of being warriors (they were probably 1st and 2nd edition characters), particularly after Roy's dad once again complains about his boy not being a wizard.

After reading through the DMG section on special weapon qualities, I'm starting to think that Roy's weapon has the vicious quality (+2d6 to opponents, 1d6 to wielder).

Somehow, I don't see Hinjo having a problem using the most powerful rez spell available to get Roy back on his feet. Although the idea of the OotS going on a sidequest to bring back their beloved leader (particularly at Elan's urging for the drama of it all) does have its appeal.

Maybe raise dead isn't being brought up yet because they're in the middle of a huge battle.

Afterward is when they're likely to bust out with the res-fu.

"Ye Couldn'tve talk 'im outta doin' wha was right anymore that I could talk ye outta swindlin' the rich."

That bit there made me smile. :)

Don't forget Elan's Gift Certificate for a favor from the government of Azure City.

He cashed that in already; it was used to have Shojo keep the Linear Guild locked up indefinitely without trial.

Maybe Durkon is played by diaglo, and he's forcing Roy's player to reroll 3d6 in order. ;)
nah,

i'm the sod/dirt farmer. :D

i'm hoping for a Return of the Jedi ending to this battle. fireworks, ewoks, and the images of the dead watching over the survivors.

i think they are ghouls or ghasts. somewhere Redcloak mentions it.

Hmmm....what makes you think that? The only thing I can think of is when the swordsmith tells him there is a side effect and Roy scoffs it off here.....http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0297.html but then again I could be wrong. Usually the vicious quality is on all the time right? Then again it could be vicious only around undead right?
