Just how powerful is that thing? Strong enough to knock Miko out of that tower when he was trying to hit her "as weakly as possible".. Either it's HP or it's AC is so high that Belkar's attacks can't touch it... ...Can cause seismic tremors with a stomp of it's "feet"...

I like the theory that the Creature in the Darkness is some kind of avatar or manifestation of the Snarl, only a very weak version of it so it's got a childlike mentality and proportionate strength (instead of killing Gods in one or two hits it's "merely" got the power we've seen of it). Xykon did already destroy one gate before Dorukan's, so he's been dealing with them before and might have released the CitD from Dorukan's Gate or Liirian's Gate before their destruction.

I think we have just found our Blackguard... a new enemy for OotS, without a flamewar with the Miko supporters. Everybody wins! (Except Belkar, of course. But hey...)

I loved the 'running away during the monologe' bit.. That made me laugh...

I was also confused as why the roches were taking such an active part in this too.. then I read: "Who's the side dish now halfling!" and it all fell into place!

I like the mini-tarrasque theory. With Savage Species progression. The CitD doesn't seem to have any fancy spell-like abilities or powers, just extreme strength and toughness.

Its as powerful as plot. Right now its just a mysterious unstatted creature, so it does what the dm wants. Once it reveals itself, then it will have stats, and only then can it be defeated!!

I dunno. Rich has been pretty good about knowing what stats resolve as what plots.
