Belkar is completely unaffected by an Unholy Blight spell, you have to be evil for that to happen. (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0011.html).

I'm not denying the evilness of the Halfling.

I'm denying the Listed "E" on the Character Sheet.

Rich (esp a lot of the early strips) was on big in-joke on how not ony the rules affected play, but how Players do things that just seem completly incomprehensible when actually played out seriously.

I've had a few "CN" Characters that were obviously evil to every one but the player of that PC.

This is more an in-joke about the Belkar's Player, than Belkar.

IE, Ranger with no ranks in survival ("Umm, what do you mean I need Survival Ranks to Track!?!?. No I didn't read the Feat Description, seemed pretty obvious to me. I Track").

I think I really prefered those early strips the best. I haven't really enjoyed more than the occasionaly strip since around when Miko had her first appearance.

Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks and all that.... I consider OotS to be one of maybe 3 successful transitions through Cerebus Syndrome in all of webcomics (that I've seen, granted, but I do read a lot of them). The D&D gags were always worth a chuckle, but now it's a high quality adventure comic, too. Gags per week are up, plot quality is up, characterization is up.... this is win-win-win from my perspective.

Now we just need to get Roy back up. His sheer exasperation at how far things went to hell needs expression.

Just how powerful is that thing? ......<snip> Either it's HP or it's AC is so high that Belkar's attacks can't touch it... ."...

The funny thing is I took Belkar's inability to land an attack as being full concealment drom the "darkness spell" created by the umbrella's shadow.

...<snip>....I think if O-Chul is aware, then he'll welcome death at the hands of Xykon, no matter how painful it may be, just to get away from another tea party game.

I think that most likely he might be out cold as a result of all that punishment he endured thus far. Also, if he was aware, I'd expect a few screaming thought bubbles emanating from him.

"Stomp. Like that time when Xykon wouldn't buy you those Transformers."

LOL!

Seriously, for all you 'avatar of the snarl' people, do god-killing abberations play with Transformers?

And what gender is this thing? Very few boys (to my knowledge) have tea parties.

Facts about Belkar:
- Belkar has BAB above 11, but below 16.
- Belkar has fewer than 11 levels of Ranger.

There's no other way he could have exactly 5 attacks.

We know what V's level was at the start of this battle. How many Barbarian levels do we think Belkar has?

Cheers, -- N

So, Rich coming straight out and saying Belkar is evil means... nothing to you?

I think Belkar is the perfect depiction of PC CE, as filtered through a classic "chaotic stupid" player. It seems to me the player, as depicted by the strip artist who flat-out says Belkar is evil, intends for Belkar to be evil.

Many. He has no skill points, no rangerspellcasting thanks to no Wis and apparently not a lot of Int either. So I can easily imagine he didn't level up as ranger anymore since he went haywire.

Come on, you know he's raging in EVERY fight :D
