I'm still not sure how you got your conclusion out of my statement, but oh well.

Nothing like sundering a tentacle with a blunt weapon to make you go "huh?"at D&D rules logic!
(I learned a while ago now to stop trying to equate D&D with reality and logic. My head hurts a lot less often now!

In my Eyros Halfling Pirates game, there's a Halfling Druid with a Porpoise mount. Could have had a Shark, but the Porpoise proved to be a solid choice, as it also uses its echolocation to find invisible opponents and guide them through treacherous hidden reefs.Asmor said:Oh.
My.
God.
I totally want to play a Paladin with a shark mount now!
Of course, I doubt I'll ever play an aquatic campaign where a pally would be appropriate... so failing that, I think I have a new NPC.![]()

Actually, if you look at the Giant Octopus stats, it is truly wimpy compared to the OotS and their allies. I've always wondered why the Druid gets Giant Octopus and Dire Bear as choices at the same level.carborundum said:Of course - he sundered it! Nice one Rich!
Is it odd that the octopus falls apart so easily? With Durkon & Lien's attacks that thing's shedding tentacles like they're going out of fashion! Maybe it's something else and Redcloak's being sneaky?
And as for shark mounts - I totally have to slip one into my Savage Tide campaign now. One PC has a Dire Otter mount and that's fun, but sharks are way cooler for later.
