But, of course not... And if a show he usually liked had an episode that wasn't up to par, or took characters he had grown to like in a bad (to him) direction, he would never discuss that on a thread devoted to the show, he would either just stop watching, or enjoy his free product without question or criticism. Because it's FREE! :p

Aaah, the internet. It makes me feel like such a babe in the woods. :( You just succesfully mocked me and I just don't have the articulateness to respond. It seems unkind though. Especially since I'm talking about bandwidth issues not dissing you over not enjoying a strip or a character.

Bandwidth costs a lot of money. I'm surprised Rich is able to make a profit at all. I know ENWorld struggles. That's why I get annoyed when I see people who are getting some pretty good entertainment for free complain about it not getting to them fast enough.

And the other people in that thread would never call him out for threadcrapping.

But he does make a profit. And we're not just talking about a couple thousand dollars a year, here - he makes enough that he was able to quit his job and work on OotS full-time. Now, as far as I'm concerned, that's great - I like OotS, and I'm happy that Rich is able to make a living off it. But the fact is that he's making a significant amount of money off the strip, and part of the business model that's made him that money is providing free strips online at a semi-regular frequency (barring illness and such).

Again, I will ask - if your signal kept going out when new episodes of your favorite TV shows were airing, are you telling me you wouldn't complain about it? After all, network TV is free (to you).

Chaotic means never having to say you're sorry.

When Rich says new episodes will be up Tuesdays at 8pm EST, then you've got a point.

Since he gets them up when he can, as best he can, you just kinda have to deal with it.

Am I understanding the argument here correctly? Because he makes money at it, you can complain, even though you aren't providing any of that money?

The difference between OotS and network tv is as simple as it is intrusive. Commercials. You pay for your network tv by buying the products advertised.

I still don't get why Haley has been teleporting back and forth between the flotilla and Azure City. When did she take all those levels in wizard? And doesn't the resistance wonder why she keeps disguising herself as a half-orc ninja and disappearing all the time?

The OotS book I own says otherwise.

No you don't. You don't have to buy anything advertised. You don't even have to watch the commercials.
