Seemed pretty clear to me he was going to nuke thier innards with a spell until the teleportation interrupted that. Rich was pretty much following round-by-round actions up until then, I don't think he would have let Xykon do the paralyzing touch in the same round as a standard action spell. Even quickened, two paralyzing touchs is 2 standard actions, unless he only chose to do it to V.

It's hard to tell, though, since V's look hasn't really changed since getting held, it's difficult to distinguish if s/he also became paralyzed.

i'd hazard a guess v is failing the will saves voluntarily to reduce the chance of the being controlled by the fiends to wreck Roy's Resurrection.
