Mmm, Brain in a Jar. Yummy!

I couldn't care less about chapters 1 and 2 (undead lore), but I'll yoink chapter 4 (monsters) off the Compendium, and hopefully chapter 3 (lairs) will show up as a gallery.

Edit: Oh right. I wonder what the new "stock monsters" (zombies, skeletons, etc) are. I thought the MM1 covered them pretty well.

Looking at the Sword of Kas, it makes me very tempted to hand that to a party Very early on, and slowly update it/let it reveal powers as it levels. Although, I have the feeling that might be unbalanced/unfair.

Templates! Glorious templates!

Wonder if the Larva Undead will be similar to the Larval Mage.

I was rather disappointed with the alternate powers in the Draconomicon. But I anticipate at least 1 alternate vampire power.

I'm glad to see these famed monsters updated in these themed books but man, does that mean we're going to need a giants book (one of the few types that didn't materialize for 3rd ed)?
?

We're getting Frost Giants in MM2. It's confirmed. Same with Metallics.

What are we "missing" that would require a themed book?

Biclops!

Seriously, they've managed to make up new zombies, vampires, liches and ghosts for Open grave, and the whole giant/titan/elemental thing is a big deal in the default 4E history. They'll come up with something if they want to make "Size matters - A sourcebook of giants and titans".

I meant in terms of theme. 3rd ed hit demons, devils, undead, vile/exalted, psionic, etc... but never had a giant sourcebook, unlike 2nd edition which had Giantcraft.

There could be all sorts of giants written up in such a book, especially with the way 4e handles these things.

On the other hand, the super adventure against the giants may take care of this one.

We haven't received a Fey book in 3e. And, given how the Feywild has been put front and center, I would think a Fey-book writes itself.

Just because I agree with you so much on this subject, and because it's Xmas, I hereby grant you one shiny xp!

Wow, the new monster list looks great- it's got most of my favorite missing undead in it!

Now, if only they had included the pennangalan...

I liked that they included Acererak. Where is the Bronze Lich from? I missed that if he was from another edition.
