Pathfinder 1E Opinions on Pathfinder

I believe what he means is they can't incorporate any of it in their products. They can't do a warlock book or have a warlock appear in a module. (specifically a Complete Arcane Warlock) It is purely an OGC non-OGC issue, not a compatibility issue.

A warlock would be 100% compatible in a PF game at your table.

But, if product bloat is one of your 3E concerns, it is very easy as a DM to simply state that you are going PF only. Poof, vast pages of WotC (and other 3PP) material is off the table.
Bryon gets it in one. If you're looking to exclusively use Pathfinder materials, it means there's a lot of official 3x stuff that won't make the transition, because it's not open content.

There's no reason you couldn't use that content with Pathfinder, but if you already have all that stuff, there's little reason in my opinion to pick Pathfinder up in the first place. If I were going to play a 3X game I'd simply use the books I already have.

Now if I were going to get into a 3X/OGL game and didn't have the core books, Pathfinder would be a good place to go. I'd still prefer Fantasycraft, but if that was off the table, Pathfinder would be the go-to by default.
