Con Report
I was attending a major con for the first time with my wife (a gamer since before we met), and we both had a blast. The highlight of the con for both of us was the dealer's room, although the rest of the stuff we tried was also great.
We played Living Greyhawk (all 3 available) and the Seventh Sea LARP, as well as some pickup games, including demos of Ice Towers and Zendo from Looney Labs.
Our purchases included (and this is just what I can remember offhand):
Chrononauts (great game, have played three times now, better each time) from Looney Labs (www.looneylabs.com)
Dragonlance Campaign Setting (Signed, sitting by me now, read on way home. Excellent) from Wizards (www.wizards.com)
The entire lineup of Rules to Live By (looks promising, to the tune of $70, haven't read yet) from Interactivities Ink (www.interactivitiesink.com)
Epic Tales 1 and both Common Ground accessories (looks very promising, does exactly what they promise) from Bard's Productions (http://www.bardsproductions.com/)
Everyone we met was very friendly, and we had a huge amount of fun, as well as coming home with piles of free stuff. We were particularly impressed with, well, I can't really narrow it down. Our gaming budget was stretched past breaking point, and is spoken for for a long time to come.
Plus, with the Epic Tales and Dragonlance, my wife has finally agreed to run D&D for a small group. Yay! I think she'll be great.
