Shuts eyes "I do believe in spooks, I do believe in spooks, I do believe in spooks!"

I heard that my sister's uncle's nephew's sister saw a shadow in her room that could not have been caused by the lights that were there! It looked just like the family black lab that died in 1982.

And my brother's sister's father's son felt a cold draft in April in his house, but it was like 79 degrees. The house was built in the 1860s on top of what was once indian land so who knows what it could have been.

When I turned off the TV last night there was an afterimage of this face that slowly faded away. Later I dreamed about that Face!

No, and no.

I hear voices in the TV and a tree tried to eat my brother. I believe in spirits, but they don't hang out on Earth after they pass, they move on. Trapped souls? Naagh. I don't buy it.

Do I believe? Definitely.

Are they disembodied dead souls? I think not.

Have I seen one? Yes, I think.

I believe that "ghosts" are some sort of psychological impression left on a certain spot by some kind of traumatic event or at times by a strong personality. It's something which is always there but can only be perceived by certain folks - so everyone who enters a haunted house won't see the ghost. And I don't think poltergeists are true "ghosts" at all. I'm a firm believer in psychic phenomena, as if you can't tell.

My story? One night (probably 4-5 years back now) I awoke from a very horrid, vivid nightmare at about 3am. I can't recall what it was about - just that it was terrifying. Anyway, when I awoke I was paralyzed, and could see the shape of a tall black man in the corner of my room. Not black like an African, mind you - but truly black, like a shadow that was merely darker than the other shadows. It's hard to describe, but I could clearly see his outline. It was a tall thin man, with his arms pressed firmly to his sides. I for some reason got the impression of his wearing a suit. I've also at other times heard odd noises in my house, such as footsteps passing behind me through the kitchen into the bathroom.

Yes and Yes. My wife and I seem to attract ghosts. I've seen at least 5 that I can definitely say were "there" and I did see them. She's seen a lot more. The strange thing with me (other than seeing them at all) is that I see their clothing only, not their "body". To put it in perspective, basically I see the equivalent to the "invisible man" from the old movie. I know that sounds unbelievably strange, but it's true. I don't get it myself.

When I was 12 I had a physical encounter with something. I don't think it qualified as a ghost, I believe poltergeist is the more correct term. It was the only time I've ever had a physical encounter with one, and I actually had a witness (my now late grandfather) to the marks it left on me afterwards.

To those who don't believe, I didn't either until I saw one.

do you believe: yes
have you seen: yes
has family member seen: yes

I was drivign my friends home from a trackmeet one day (late at night) when I saw a girl sitting on the curb in between two lamp posts. I thought out loud "wonder what she is sitting there waiting for?"
My friends asked "what are you talking about?"
pointing at her, "her- right there, sitting there with her hair draped across her face..."
friends, "I dont see anyone..."
pointing "right there, we are passing her right... now!"
friends "what the *** are you talking about..."

Sister:
My sister was playing hide and seek with me and my bros in the house. She was it. She saw a figure out of the corner of her eye from behind and chased it upstairs. She lost it at my room- where she saw it run into teh closet. She ran into the closet thinking it was me. I got tired of hiding and came out (still downstairs) and screamed at her. She said she swore that she saw me run upstairs...

Has anyone ever had that strange feeling that a ghost is laying on them. You wake up in the middle of the night and you cant move any of your body parts. My parents tel me that is because a ghost has laid on you... i and two brothers and a sister have felt it

and my dad is a gold mine for ghost stories:

he used to own a farm, and during harvest season, he would leave the rice stalks out to dry.

He woke up one night to a bloody cow that was eating his rice stalks. HE noticed that it ate a huge pile that used to be by the house. He ran out to scare it away. It kind of just disappeared- he thought it was a dream and went back to bed. he woke up in the morning to find the pile really was gone.

My brother in law's father used to be a witch doctor. we saw a can at his house that vibrates. he claims there to be a ghost trapped inside trying to get out. If you touch it, It will possess your body...

My sister had that one night, sleeping in my grandmother's house (see my earlier post). Terrifying, to hear her tell it...

I believe that there are forces in the universe that we have no idea of and cannot yet explain. Ghosts, demons, angels, whatever we call them at different times, things are out there. I haven't personally seen any, but I have heard stories and experiences from some people that I believe. I do absolutley believe in aliens, and they scare the hell out of me.
