He also stole small items from them. Watches, keys, hairbrushes, and other things dissapeared from normal spots to never be seen again, or to be found lying in the open again years later.
thi shappens all the time in my family. i dont believe that it is a spirit- just forgetfulness or somethign that cant be explained. Maybe imps or something playing tricks on us... but I never attributed this to a ghost.

Once I was writing an outline for a college paper and I put my pencil down to stretch. i looked for teh pencil two seconds latera nd it was missing. After searching for like twenty minutes, it showed up gain in the exact place I placed it- but i swore i looked there a second ago.
Also combs and nail clippers- when you dont need them, you have like ten lying around the house. teh second you want to clip your toenails- you cant find a single one. And right after you ise a utility knife to do a shotty job, three of them show up...

Once when just me and my friend were in the house, a small christmas teddy bear activated by itself. It was one of those that played music if you pressed one of the paws. John (my friend) and I were in another room noticing that we both felt the presence of his ghost when the bear in another room started playing all by itself!
I had that happen to me too- and it was scary because it was a doll that looked like the "chucky" doll from 'childs play'. We brought it home from the store and put the batteries in. It didnt work. My brother then took the batteries out and go to look for some other ones. I heard the thing talk and started to play with it (thinking it had batteries in it)- it ran through its normal routine of lines and then stopped. my brother came back with the batteries and put them in. i ran into my room and hid- later that day, I tied the darn thing up with like ten layers of sheets and twenty yards of rope.

My brother still does not know what happened to the doll- but i do- it found its way into the dumpster the next morning...trash day

Actually, Ashrem Bayle, it's not narcolepsy these people are describing, it's called sleep paralysis.

These people say they wake up, and cannot move, scream, do anything.

With Narcolepsy, a victim is overcome with an irresistable sleep attack that can occur at any time of the day (although typically during an emotionally high state).

Sleep paralysis is a condition in which someone, most often lying in a supine position, about to drop of to sleep, or just upon waking from sleep realizes that s/he is unable to move, or speak, or cry out. This may last a few seconds or several moments, occasionally longer. People frequently report feeling a "presence" that is often described as malevolent, threatening, or evil. An intense sense of dread and terror is very common. The presence is likely to be vaguely felt or sensed just out of sight but thought to be watching or monitoring, often with intense interest, sometimes standing by, or sitting on, the bed. On some occasions the presence may attack, strangling and exerting crushing pressure on the chest. People also report auditory, visual, proprioceptive, and tactile hallucinations, as well as floating sensations and out-of-body experiences.

Also, only about .02 - .05% of people suffer from narcolepsy, whereas 20 - 40% of people have had or regularly suffer from sleep paralysis.

Just thought I'd clear that up :)

As for aliens- it is true that they usually only appear in the most remote part of the world0- and the only people to see themis Joe Farmer and his pet cow.

But if you believe in evolution, then you have tobelieve that there is life outside of this planet because of the vastness of space and how the miracle of life was an accidental mixture of sugar water and an energy source. then you cannot accept that this acident only occured once in all of space and time- but can occr many times in many places.

I didn't mean to say I don't believe in aliens. I certainly believe in the possibility of other sentient life forms existing, and think its highly probably that they do. I just think they have better things to do with their time than go around making crop circles and stuff.

Any alien civilization advanced enough to travel the stars would be way beyond our current level of technology. I don't think they'd need to waste time with conspiracies. More likely that they would just strip mine our planet to refuel their space ship, and move on.

Slightly Tangential but:

I'm wondering -for those of you who beleive in ghost but don't beleive them come back to this earth - where do you beleive that they do go?

In my culture ghosts don't actually go anywhere - they live around us (perhaps on the Ethereal Plane)

OT- that is what bugged the bajeezes out of me from the ID4 movie. An alien race travels the universe stripping planets of all its natural resources and moves on was destroyed by a pidly littl eplanet named Earth- and its 16 F14 fighter jets...

I would think that even without its force shield, those alien crafts would maneuver a heck of a lot better than ours and with their little green laser canon being much more effective than our machine guns (each plane only had 4 missiles)

and after seeing a couple of their mother ships taken down by kamekaze pilots into the laser port- you would think that they were smart enough to keep it shut... and not try to use it...

and when the grandmother ship reeled in the lone spaceship- why would you do something like that? wouldnt you sense somethign wrong if you sent out ten mother ships and a pidly squeaker mobile came back.. without the mother ship- without proper orders?

and i can go on and on. - and why is it that aliens only visit Podung county, Kansas? and never the big cities? they obviously dont need thelandind strip- seeing as how advanced their technology is...

that's why I was hoping that this next movie (Reign of fire) would end with the destruction of man and the domination of the dragons. A species of dragons has been dormant for millions of years - only to be killed by man... i would think a species that was alive for that long has much to offer than to die...

and now- back to ghosts...

as to where they go after they leave- I have always learned that every BODY is inhabited by a spirit. the spirit enters another plane of existence (dimension) where they live a continuing life from the one they left behind. i believe this dimension (like the ethereal plane) overlaps with ours- and that they are everywhere around us. Its just some times they slip back into the material plane... there i go with DND terminology... and that is where they are seen.

a story about my mom. she was sent to the hospital once for and they hooked her up to the IV and let her sleep for the night. She woke up in the middle of the night to see a hugeman stanging beside her bed. He collapsed onto her and she could ot push him off. she screamed, but nothing came out of her mouth. She then fainted and woke up in themorning and demanded to be let out.

I watch something on tv about this a while back and it was pretty common occurance. The weird thing was the reports of seeing similar visions of a huge child-like man and old crone woman durring the paralysis. The program talked quite a bit how many people would have the same visions and describe the same people that they saw. Many of the stories were from people all over the world.

I haven't suffered from sleep paralysis before but to this day I remember vividly while having a fever as a child seeing a fat and a skinny out of focus couple in my room. I can barely remember grade school but this memory has never left.

As I said over on the Nutkinland boards I believe in ghosts I jsut don't know what they are or why it happens. There's just too much evidence to think something strange isn't happening. Just because we don't understand it yet doesn't make it not exist.
