Detroit sucks in the same way that most all-powerful, dirty dictators suck. I want nothing more than to see the Chicken Wings run themselves chin first into a large concrete wall.

All of my mojo will be geared in daily prayer sessions towards the culmination of this desire.

Besides, you should always cheer for the underdog.

How about the Avs comeback after that disapointing game 1. Damn how do you lose one game 6-1 and then score
8 - EIGHT - 8 goals in one game? I'm not sure I have ever seen a goalie (or should I say two goalies) have such swings from one game to the next. WOW. Plus out of the four games they have played in the regular season this was the first that the home team won...maybe the Avs do have a chance to win this one. I to would like another Wings vs Avs matchup.

THis Ottawa Toronto game is really something. Anyone else watching?

No, finally another OT game (of which there haven?t been enough so far) and I had to go see Spider-Man.

hum.... my beloved Canadiens have lost.... I think that we dont put enought emotion in this game. It's hard, because the Hurricanes is not a real team. The Bruins was a real team. I hope that with this first game, the CH will have understand, and play hockey. in the next game !

And so they did (or at least Theodore did ). I have to take exception to what you said about the Bruins and the Canes, though. I didn't think the Bruins even deserved to be first in the conference. What smoke and mirrors they used to get there, I don't know. And that's what I thought before the playoffs even started. As far as I was concerned, that wasn't a 1st vs 8th matchup, it was more like 4th vs 5th.

And while the Hurricanes really got in mainly because their division really sucks, they play a speedy, tough forechecking, tight defensive game that is very effective. If the Habs somehow don't make it out of this series (knock on wood), I think Carolina is in the finals.

Mark my words, Carolina is going to be a very good team, very soon. Hope the people of Carolina appreciate it.

A few thoughts before tonight's contests begin...

1) The Toronto/Ottawa game two nights ago was fantastic!! That's what playoff hockey is supposed to be about -- not cheap shots and attempts at bodily harm.
2) The Avs sure responded to their Game 1 defeat in a convincing manner. Too bad for them the Sharks are still going to win that series.
3) Montreal proves that Weekes is human, and Theodore makes 7,461 saves on his way to the victory. OK, maybe it wasn't quite that many saves, but it was close !

Hoody Hoo! Anybody else watch the Sharks-Avs game? Now that's how hockey should be played.

I saw most of the game, and was quite pleased with the outcome...as were my family members in San Jose I've no doubt. Ya gotta admire Roy's ability to bounce back after bad games and muddleheaded plays, though.

If this keeps up I'm going to be rolling in loot by the time they raise the Cup. I've had good years before but man, I'm stunned at how close I've been on most of these. The only series I've blown so far was Boston/Montreal.

And no before anyone goes scrolling through the threads to check my predictions, I didn't post them here. My players (pigeons) might be watching...

Avs-Sharks

Wow - did anyone else watch Game 4 tonight?

This is (I think) the best series going, and will probably go to 7 games. Low scoring game, but with a great result.

Now, if St. Louis and Carolina win tomorrow, that would tie up each series at 2-2, and mean even more playoff hockey, with at least 6 games for each series. While I wouldn't mind seeing Detroit lose, I really want to see an Avs-Wings Conference final.

Man, I love this game.

Just bumping this back onto page one, where it surely belongs given the intensity displayed in these four series!!

One other item of note -- today was Stevie Y's birthday, same as mine. I rather enjoyed the goal he scored to celebrate the occasion .
