Being a Colorado fan, I can sum up my thoughts in one word:
meh.
Sure, I'm disappointed, but oh well. We won last year, we won when we had a purpose and a driving force. We won when it counted, we got our Cup.
I would have wanted a better game, a close, nail biting game, but the result would still have been the same. The Avs just ran out of gas.
I'm still proud of how we did. We managed to beat two tough opponents, and still played the best hockey team to game 7. Still commendable in my book.
And Game 7 is far from Roy's fault. If it were Roy's fault, the score would be 6-5, not 6-0. The entire Avalanche team just fell flat. You could tell in Game 6. Our offense just fell into shambles, and then the entire team disentigrated (sp?).
Kudos for the Red Wings. Even though their big players fell flat, they kept coming and scored when it mattered. Big Kudos for Detroit's defense, it's not easy to shut down players like Sakic and Forsberg.
As a final note I would like to say something about the actions of most fans in the Detroit stadium, but Eric's grandma would kill me and beat me like a dead horse. Instead, I'll say this: If those fans keep it up, the running philosophy on the Av bench should be "We can't win, but both of us can still lose."
