Hockey fans everywhere deserved to see a seventh game between Colorado and Detroit. I'm not gonna disrespect or dismiss the 'Canes, but this series is The Cup Finals IMHO.

Chairman:
How's your wife doing? Are you two gonna find out early if you're having a boy or a girl? I didn't want to know, but my wife vetoed me ;).

Bagpuss:
I'm not a big soccer/football fan, but I love the World Cup...at least the games which include teams who traditionally attempt to score goals and play offense. Too bad some of those countries didn't qualify this year.

Wow, 4-0 for Detroit after just one period !!!

But, it is me, or this game is boring ?? I'm disappointed, for the game that is suppose to be the Stanley Cup final.

And I dont think it will be easy for the winning team to beat Carolina. They are tenacious, they never give up, and they HIT !! Game after game, they HIT !!! Colorado and Detroit have a lot of talent.... more than any team can dream..... but they dont seem to be physical.

I know that I am biased, but I have prefer the Montreal - Boston series. That was Hockey.

See you after the game !!

Being a Colorado fan, I can sum up my thoughts in one word:

meh.

Sure, I'm disappointed, but oh well. We won last year, we won when we had a purpose and a driving force. We won when it counted, we got our Cup.

I would have wanted a better game, a close, nail biting game, but the result would still have been the same. The Avs just ran out of gas.

I'm still proud of how we did. We managed to beat two tough opponents, and still played the best hockey team to game 7. Still commendable in my book.

And Game 7 is far from Roy's fault. If it were Roy's fault, the score would be 6-5, not 6-0. The entire Avalanche team just fell flat. You could tell in Game 6. Our offense just fell into shambles, and then the entire team disentigrated (sp?).

Kudos for the Red Wings. Even though their big players fell flat, they kept coming and scored when it mattered. Big Kudos for Detroit's defense, it's not easy to shut down players like Sakic and Forsberg.

As a final note I would like to say something about the actions of most fans in the Detroit stadium, but Eric's grandma would kill me and beat me like a dead horse. Instead, I'll say this: If those fans keep it up, the running philosophy on the Av bench should be "We can't win, but both of us can still lose."

My wife, a friend, and I all went to see Sum of all Fears during the first two periods of the game...so I'm not a die hard! It was a GREAT movie but man was I shocked when I heard the score on the radio...so much for watching the 3rd period! I think all of us deserved a better game then we got, after the first six games who would have figured this outcome. Oh well, maybe next year.

Go 'Canes!

any question that scotty bowman is the best nhl coach ever? he is one of the true greats across sports. he definitely deserves more credit than a vince lombardi or a pat reilly

Totally agree with you tleilaxu. Scotty is, IMHO, probably the best coach of all the sports.

The Wings have the number of Patrick Roy. It's after a difficult defeat against them, that he choose to quit Montreal, a long time ago...

Here my prediction for the final:

.... .... .... Detroit in 6.... .... .... but I hate Hasek  .... and my hate is pdeep  ..... so......

....... the Hurricanes in 7. :)
