[OT] Hockey Fever: The NHL Playoffs Thread Part II

Let me be the first to say, DAMMIT .

Oh well, no one expected this be an easy series. I just hope that my Wings keep their grit and determination levels pegged at maximum overdrive. Detroit could (should) be leading the series 3-1, but we still control home ice and our own destiny...it's time to shine!!

Just have to hope the home ice advantage is enough. I will say, for the first two periods and the last 5 mintues of the third, the Wings OWNED that game. It was only because of Roy that it was that damn close. But what did I tell ya? Drury with a CLUTCH goal. Even though I thought it wasn't a game winner, it was the difference maker over all.

I've been thinking all along that the series will go 7, and what I've seen the past 2 games dosen't change my thinking at all. Punch-Counterpunch, all night long. Here's hoping the Avs can take game 5 so that they don't have to win 2 in a row to close it out.

And, since I haven't done this in a few days...GO AVS!!!

Now if the Canes can finish off the Leafs tomorrow and the Avs get through with Detroit the next, we can give Colorado back its Cup!

For the record, I have not been hiding in shame or avoiding this thread, I was experiencing some technical login difficulties .

Now that I'm able to post again, I just wanna say that the Colorado/Detroit series isn't over yet...and that I'm perturbed the Wings find themselves trailing. Roy was great last night, but so was Hasek. The game could have gone either way, and both teams squandered some golden opportunities.

May tomorrow bring a happier Red Wing outcome.

No kidding, Quick: Roy himself will tell you (at least according to the Free Press) that Shanahan's failure to score that goal in the last minute or two of the third was pretty much a fluke. And the Wings dominated the OT until that goal snuck past to end it.

I'll still pick the Wings in 7, but it's looking a bit grimmer for us Motown folks...

Well I sure hope that this Wed. the Avs can rid the Stanley Cup Finals of the Wings! They need to finish this series off at home and then cruise througth the playoffs. Both series have been great for hockey...hope it keeps up.

Avs-Wings

Well, game 6 is tonight. On one hand, I want the Avs to win so that they don't have to go back to Detroit, and can rest a bit for the finals. On the other hand, I would like to see another game between these two hands. On the gripping hand, I worry that if they have a game 7 it could go either way, and I really don't want the Red Wings to get to the finals.

Either way, I think the winner will be able to beat the 'Canes. While it is a pleasent suprise to see them in the finals, I don't think they can stand up to the West.

And even though the Avs are having injury problems, with Hinote out now with a broken leg , I can still see them winning it. Anyway, Avs will win 2-1 tonight.

I would love to see them end the series tonight! I just don't like the idea of going to Detroit to play game 7. I agree that the winner of the West will win the Cup. I just hope that winner is determined tonight!
