[OT] Hockey Fever: The NHL Playoffs Thread Part II

I mean what I'm about to say in all sincerity: I feel very bad for Leaf fans right now. Despite hating your team for many years (as all good Red Wing fans should), I'm sorry to see the return of star players lead to a loss in team cohesion and effort. I won't chalk Carolina up in the Cup Finals just yet, but Toronto looks thoroughly tired, frustrated and beaten at this point.

Hopefully the Wings will take a 3-1 series tomorrow with an effort equal to the one they displayed on Wednesday.

edit: error corrected :)

No offense Quick but I want this series to go longer. Here's hoping Drury and Hedjuk score some clutch goals and get this series tied up going back to Hockeytown. :)

Btw, last night was SUCH a killer. I'm sure Quinn wished he watched from a hospital bed.

Btw, NHL2Night had Chicken Parm! :D I so like that guy. It's too bad he had to come back into the studios after that whole Blues shut down thing...

No offense taken. The average (or detached) hockey fan wants the Wings/Avs series to go six or seven games for the pure enjoyment of watching these two teams go at one another. For my part, though, I don't want to give such a talented squad room to breathe or time to collect themselves.

Sorry again 'bout last night's game. It would have been so cool to see Detroit and Toronto battling for the Cup!!

Finally, I'm totally lost on your NHL2Night comment...please explain.

I would think Quinn is thinking the same thing... What is up with Sundin & Tucker?

Sundin played pretty well, I thought. One of the better Leafs. Tucker still hurts, he can't hit. If Tucker can't hit, he's not effective. Odds are, he won't play tomorrow.

The Leafs are now seeing what Montreal had to endure. I was captivated by the Bruins-Habs series. Even when Boston went up 4-0 in the 1st period in Game 2, my eyes were glued to the TV because it was exciting hockey.

Whenever Carolina went up on Montreal, even by a goal, it was time to go do something else.

The Canes are a great mix of youth and experience, determined, well-coached and pretty healthy (if you don't look at their faces :p), but damn their boring to watch with a lead. Reminds me of the Devils...

Go Avs Go! :)

Chicken Parm - Ray Ferraro. It's his nickname for him when he's on the show. He always ordered Chicken Parmesan before each broadcast/taping.

As for the leafs...well even Carolino makes it, no way they can stop EITHER of these two teams. 2 wins at the most by Carolina. I don't expect it to go beyond six games.

Second game in a row that Detroit has totally outplayed Colorado thru two periods, yet an early goal in the third has the Avs up 2-1 right now. Here's hoping all that hard work results in another Motor City victory -- we've thoroughly dominated much of the series, and a tie coming home doesn't seem just.

And, since I haven't done this in a few days...GO WINGS!!!
