Uh... how bad is your vision? Why can't you wear glasses? What sort of eyesight must you have to get in the military?

The reason I ask is because I have bad vision when looking at things far away. Not way blurry, but just enough so that I can't read writing and that sort of detail. My close vision is fine. What's up?

Horrible, really. If I didn't wear compact lenses I would probably have coke bottle bottoms in my frames. I believe it's 400/20. As an example, my bookcase is 20 feet away. I can recognize individual spines: my D&D 2nd Edition books, my Star Wars WEG books, etc. I can even read the "Traveller T20" spine. If I look over my frames, I see a blurry bookcase with blobs of color. If I squint hard, their straight blobs of color.
