[OT] Insomniac conversation... come in and grab some coffee

A-ha! My kind of place! Insomniacs Inc.

For me, the greatest conversations have ALWAYS taken place late at night (more like early morning: 12am-6am), and usually in 24 hour diners.

But kitchen would probably rank #2 for me.

I've only seen the first From Dusk til Dawn but the scenes with Cheech (as all three of his characters) are hilarious. :)

I work weekend nights. That's fri, sat, sun from 6pm to 6am the next morning. So whatever you guys are feeling, I probably felt it too, and then some. With the exception of getting bleary-eyed on the road once in a while, and the fatigue that seems to set in ALL WEEK long even when I do sleep well (though not as regularly as I should), the schedule supports my gaming habit quite well.

I think that come Spring I will be cutting back the quantity of gaming I do in favor of quality. I'm participating in 3 different groups, and 5 different campaigns. Even I have to admit that it is excessive, but the insight I get into small group dynamics is great [I got a BA in psych BTW]. I feel like I should be doing a psychology study or something with all these play groups, but I'd rather just play.

I'm up and working on tonight's adventure for one of my groups right now too, as soon as I play one more round of Age of Mythology :) Great game BTW, but can still be vulnerable to rushing tactics (which I hate), just like any other RTS game.

Cheers!

Olive just told me I needed to go to bed and since he's an Aussie I have to do what he says or he'll do something Aussie to me... You know, like in those Foster Beer commercials.

Night night guys. :)

Wow, I suck, I haven't heard of either. There's so much game stuff that just goes right under my radar.

Crimson Contracts is a PDF by Ambient Inc all about Assassins. Requiem for a God is by Monte and gives advice for what should happen if a god dies in your campaign world. Both are pretty darn good.

Last week, I went from my normal sleep schedule (5 am to 2 pm) all the way back around over the course of four or five days. Day 1 I went to bed around 8 am, got up at 5. Day 2, went to bed at 11 am, got up at 8, etc.

It was kind of surreal, but then I eventually came back to my normal sleep pattern.

In any case, its 5:30. Time for me to go to bed.

Goodnight kids.

Man. Sleepless nights are always my best time to be creative. I just ripped out a HUGE segment of story hour, and I feel it's some of my best stuff of the past months.

I've always found that when I can't sleep, better get up and head to the drawing board... or just do something constructive I've been putting off. Such a nice peaceful time.

Also, I've forgotten how much I like this movie. "Now let's kill that ****ing band." A lot of the dialogue is a lot duller than I remember from when I was 20 and duller myself, but it's still good vampiric fun. I always prefer these monstrous horrid vampires to the Anne Rice-ian aristocrats with personal goth stylists.

You still up DM,

I would just like to say that I too am a night owl I get up around 1:00 maybe 2:00 PM go to work ( I am a Telemarketer), come home all hyped up, and don't fall asleep until the rooster starts to crow ( I intend to kill that dire rooster eventually) ( He starts his crowing about 4:30 AM, I do sometimes hear the Dump truck (around 5ish, and the paper deliverer around 6 AM) but all that waking time is spent here or on a few other boards, or reading.

Although this morning I have a bit of a headache so who nows perhaps early to sleep early to rise.

Its around 3am here and aint tired whatsoever. I usually crash around 4-6 am and wake up around 12-2 pm. I have such bad sleeping habits. :p

Anyways, you are so right! For me its the only time I can truly relax and focus on my gaming and other projects while everyone else is asleep. But to bad I aint got a tv near me. :(
