... Well, I just read in an insect book ...

say it ain't so! ... I didn't know you could read and do websites! ;)

[back OnT] I spent 4 years in Augusta, Georgia. I hate the heat, and the bitter cold, and to much sunshine (nothing really fits well over my glasses), to much rain kinda sucks too!

... I do like those not to warm days that are really overcast and gloomy though :)

I unfortunately get heat sick really easily - even on days that are 80-ish, I have to watch how active I am outdoors because I can, and have on many occasions, passed out. Thankfully I have a great tolerance for cold, which is perfect for where I live :)

Although, I will say, I do enjoy the warm breezes you all have in the south.

It's not so much hot as it is humid. Remember, 72 degees F is room temp. :)

Hot is when I doff my sweatshirt on my way home from the night shift and walk home in a t-shirt. Thankfully it hasn't come to that yet.
TAKE OFF THE DAMNED SWEATSHIRT YOU DIP! Seriously, this guy never takes off his sweatshirt.....ever. Or you could turn on that Air conditioner and cool off.
Listen, if I wanted worthless advice I'd ask Angcuru, ok robaustin?!
Do you want the knife that slits your throat to be soaked in lemon juice or rubbing alcohol?:) When was the last time you asked me for advice? Never. So how would you know....?

LOOKIT THE BONES, MAN!

blackshirt....this is NOT hot. Philly in the summer of 88? THAT was hot. 98 in the shade, and 98% humidity? THAT is hot. This is just irritating.

Louisiana in the Summer of (well, just about any year...). 98 in the shade, and 98% humidity?

We just call that a nice cool day !

On a serious note, it has been quite cool down here recently. Next 2 weeks show highs around 90, lows around 75. I can't wait until July, though, when we get a few weeks of 100+ temps; I like hot weather.

As for BOZ, you're wearing a jacket right now? Heh, so am I. People on campus look at me funny for wearing a black leather jacket in high temperatures. They just don't understand the process of acclimation...

[ot] Velvet Ants / Cow Killers aren't ants? Wow, that's news to me! [/ot]

I've acclimated quite nicely to wearing a sweatshirt all year round.

And I'll ask you advice in threee years. It'll be what kinds of flowers does Becca like.:p

again .... north america is in a temperate zone, can't compete with the tropics...

while we can't compare it is note that most of the South US is under the 40 degree parallel which relates to Northern India, the Middle East and Northern African.

Sometimes in the NorthEast, near the middle of august, it gets in the 90s and is very humid. So the North isn't always a haven from the hot weather. ;)

On days like those I want to move to canada. Tho on other days Canada sounds nice too.

The "bad" parts of India are actually the southern parts. Northern India - overall - is fairly comparable to the US south. It is like comparing Georgia to the Yucatan.

One of my coworkers just returned fom Mumbia (Bombay) and was mentioning that it was about 112 F with 98% humidity.
