[OT]Jason X - Comments?

I saw it and i liked it. I saw it so i could say that i saw at least ONE in the theatres. It was a good check-your-brain-at-the-door type of movie. Although they never explained how the hell he got OUT of hell. They just briefly mentioned it.

For that matter, they never explained how he got back from Manhatten.

So which of the 10 was your favorite? I havn't seen X yet, so as of now, VII was is mine.

Actually they did explain the Manhatten thing. In Jason Goes to Hell. He probably made a rampage back to Crystal Lake like he did in 9. Remember they transported him and he came to and went back to Crystal Lake? He can leave you know unlike Freddy.

But VII is my favorite deffinately. I still have a soft spot in my heart for Tina. By far besides Amy (II) the best heorine in the genre. I mean if you look at it ...

and Tommy Jarvis doesnt count although the character survived Jason the longest (IV - VI)

Ye gods, I just realized I have seen every Friday 13th movie except Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X.

That wouldn't be so bad except I saw #'s 3-8 in the theater.

And I can't remember a single character (except Jason of course).

That is not suprising, there is absolutely nothing worth remembering about the Friday The 13th films anyway, so why remember any of the characters?

If this film makes more than 10-15million durring its entire run, that will be a suprise to me.

Jason Goes to Hell was easily the best of the bunch IMHO, but I doubt Jason X will see the cinema screens over here in sunny old England- Gawd bless DVD mail order .

there were actually some memorable characters.

Corry Feldmans Character Tommy Jarvis. Hes the one who outlasted Jason the longest and survived his bloody terror and knows more about him than anyone.

the character Tina Sheppard. She was the telekenitic girl who brought Jason back t life in Friday the 13th VII: New Blood. She also battled him pretty much by herslef. And won.

The guy from 9 (Been ages since i saw it) but was played by John D. LeMay from Friday the 13th the series. He was the one who found out the Vorhees TRUE bloodline and what he REALLY was.

Rowan (Jason X) shes pretty memorable and so is KM (Jason X)

Alright, I'm admittedly uninitiated as far as the Friday the 13th series goes. Could someone explain to me exactly what the deal with Jason is (or point me to a website that does)? I know that's major spoiler territory, but it's something I'm starting to wonder after reading this thread, and I really don't want to wade through something like 15-20 years' worth of movies to find out. I've always just assumed he was a dude wearing a mask, didn't realize there was anything else to it.

As a kid at Camp Crystal Lake, young Jason Vorhess drowned in the lake as all the Counselors were off having sex. In the first film, his mother went around killing the Counselors, but in all the other films, Jason himself rose from the dead and began a-killin'. He got the hockey mask in part IV or V, I believe.

In D&D terms, he's a Revenant...
