[OT] Looking for free web hosting

Does anybody know any good sites that I might be able to get a free account from? I'm looking for someplace online that I would be able to set up a web page for all manner of things related to a campaign I'm writing, but I don't know much about free web hosting, beyond the fact that places like Geocities are NOT good.

I use lycos.co.uk. 50 megs, one banner kind of ad that disappears after 5 seconds.

What's wrong with Geocities? I've been using it since long before the sale to Yahoo! and I'm pretty happy with it (with the exception of the pop-up, of course, but that's not a real killer.)

www.freezope.org is another good site, although not very user-friendly. They have quite a bit of bandwidth too, apparently, my sig file that I use here is over there.

I've had a pretty good experience with tripod; easy to update and/or edit pages, you can upload as individual files or a zip, and the 20MB they provide is more than enough for my files, graphics, and miscellaneous downloads (I plan on having NWN adventures on there, eventually).

You might also look at topcities ( http://www.topcities.com ) - they have your choice of a banner ad or popup ad, 150 MB of space, and pretty nice features to help you do quick uploads. (Of course, you can also use FTP if you want).

On the downside, there is no ASP or PHP support. But all told, I have seen scores of free sites and this seems to be one of the best.

I've had to change several times in the last few months, as everytime I find a new place, they cut off the ability to link images from their space. Really annoying.

If you have broadband and an old computer ready you can set up your own webserver then get a dynamic dns from (yes that is dynamic dynamic ... heh), say, mine.nu or dyndns.org
