[OT:LOTR-Preview] I have seen Treebeard.

I have seen Wormtongue. I have seen Faramir. I have GANDALF THE WHITE.

And it was good.

The Two Towers preview (which appears prior to the credits of FotR, starting today) looks, as expected, fan-f*****g-tastic. Theoden and Denethor, the men of Gondor, the siege of Helm's Deep, the pursuit of Merry and Pippin, Aeowyn (sp?), Gollum trying to snatch the ring.....nine monthsseems to long to wait. :)

I just edited the first post to make it clear...the preview that got added to the final reel of 'Fellowship of the Ring' starting today. It's a four minute preview of the Two Towers, and it's awesome. I went to the 12:00 showing (hey, being 'between jobs' has at least one benefit :)) and just got back a few minutes ago.

It wasn't the only reason I went (seeing it a third time while I could was the main reason), but I waited a couple of weeks so I could see the trailer. Good stuff.

Fellowship is back in theaters in the United States. As part of the hype a Two Towers trailer is being shown at the end of the film.

BTW You have the saddest .sig I have ever seen, I lost two cats to bad drivers myself. You have my sympathy Arthur.

Dang it! I would have gone today, after getting an invite from some friends, but I have latin homework that must be done :( I was hoping it was online, but haven't found it yet...

I totally concur! I just got back from seeing the preview, and it looked awesome. Highlights:

  • Gandalf the White!
  • Eowyn! Now all you guys saying she was replaced by Arwen can finally get on with your lives...
  • 20,000 or so orcs taunting the defenders of Helm's Deep. It was like there were waves of them jumping up and down!
  • Treebeard! Or I suppose it could have been Quickbeam, but it looked more like Pippin was unaware of the eyes on the tree he had climbed into...
  • Theoden giving a speech as his armor is being assembled. Spine-chilling stuff.

The only major spoiler was Gandalf's return - I'm kind of surprised that he was so prominently shown - there was a gasp in the theatre when he appeared. The Ent moment got a good laugh; and Helm's Deep looks spectacular.

My initial impression is that TTT stands a good chance at being a better film than FoTR, which is saying quite a bit.

That sounds great. I'll have to go see it again, not that I mind. Maybe next year it'll win best picture. (Note: I have not read any the LotR Oscar threads and don't want to start a flame war over should FotR have won best picture or not)

More Details!

Ive seen it 4 times already and im going for
