[OT:LOTR-Preview] I have seen Treebeard.

Unfortunately, I don't believe it's on the web yet. I've looked at www.apple.com/quicktime/ which will have the trailer a little later on methinks, and I've searched gnutella for it without success.

I think this trailer will be a great reason for lots of the fans to go back to the theatre one more time (and earn FotR a higher box-office all-time slot :) ).

Sadly I don't think there is any chance in hell that it will be #1 because, at least in the Minneapolis MN area, it is not having a wide re-release. It is only in a few theaters. I would have to assume this is the same in other areas?

Yeah, unfortunately. In the Dallas/Fort Worth area, it isn't playing at any of the major theaters. It seems that, after 3 months, FotR is finally on its way to the Dollar Theaters...

Such a shame... :(

I gather you live in a different Dallas/Fort Worth than the one I live in ...

UA Grand Prairie (I-20 and Carrier Parkway) 1:00, 4:45, & 9:00

AMC The Grand (off I-635 in Mesquite, I believe) 1:00, 4:35, 8:20, & Midnight

Cinemark 17 (Dallas, off I-635 on the north side, I believe) 8:10 and (in the IMAX theater there) 10:30

It's not playing as widely as when it was first released, but it's still showing in some first-run theatres around Dallas.

When they first started talking about doing this trailer, the plan was supposedly to make this a "theater-only" thing. This particular trailer was to be shown only in theaters, not on the internet, not on any DVD, not on TV. Whether that still is the plan, I couldn't tell you. But considering that, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it to show up anywhere else.

The theater I saw it in was pretty full for a movie that's been out for three months. I'd guess 60% of the audience knew about the trailer, and didn't get out of their seats when the film ended. A lot of people stopped about halfway out the door, and stayed to watch. I bet it hits the top 10 again, solidly. It's been #11 or #12 for some time now, but I'd lay even money it goes back up to #4 or so. This probably will push it over Harry Potter in terms of money made, at least in the US. HP still has a big lead worldwide ($132 Mill more overseas). Right now it's the #6 grossing film of all-time, worldwide, #11 in the US. Potter is #2 for reference (#7 US), Titanic is #1 by almost $900 million (by $140 mill in the US)!

It's playing two places by me; the Lombard theater (where Wulf mentioned, 3 showings a day) and the IMAX theater in Addison (8pm only showing).

Okay... well, over where I am (near Keller/Watagua/Hurst), it's not in any of the major theaters. It's not even at Grapevine Mills anymore.

Isn't it obvious? One of you lives in Dallas, and the other one lives in Fort Worth, which is just across the border in Oklahoma. D'oh!
