Are you sure? I'm pretty sure that Dallas and Fort Worth are twin cities separated by the mighty Mississippi River (sp?), or "Texas' Sorrow". Truly the annual flooding of the Misisssipi was something to behold, or so I am told. Of course, this was before the Hoover Dam was built, bringing an end to countless cycles of devastation and rebirth.

I've always thought it was funny how people in different countries dislike the beer that their countries are famous for and instead prefer other brands. I've said for years that the only people who drink Budwiser are the ones who don't know any better. Yet, one of my friends went to Germany a few years ago and said Budwiser was not only quite popular there, but was also very expensive (because it was imported). I couldn't believe it! GERMANS drinking budwiser!!! What is the world coming to???

I'm not surprised that aussies don't drink Fosters. Irishmen probably don't drink Guinness either. Or if they do, they are probably looked down upon by other irishmen who drink the "real stuff" or prefer imports.

What odd creatures we are! Thankfully, being an American I can gladly mark Budwiser off my shopping list and be hip/cool/progressive/elite with my Mackison's Triple Stout.....

DAMMIT...I just saw it again on Friday.....Oh well, its been playing through in my area, too (Westwood Villiage, a college town), so the trailor probably wasn't added anyway...not that its not availible somewhere else in LA, but its good to convince myself that if I saw it this week instead, I still would have missed the trailor.

Okay, saw Fellowship and more importantly The Two Towers trailer today. All I can say is WOW, my heart was in my throat, and I don't care how much of a drooling fanboy I sound like. Some brief highlights:

Theoden strapping on armor while giving an inspiring speech ... waves of orcs attacking helm's deep, thousands upon thousands, getting thrown back on siege ladders .... a scene that hinted at Narsil's reforging ... Wormtounge .... Eowyn ... Treebeard or some other treant, massive eyes opening from the bark ... Sam and Frodo asleep under a rock in Modor, with Gollum creeping up and standing over them, reaching for the ring ... Gandalf the White ... and more.

Nine months? I can't wait...

I'll reply to both the thread and its hijacking into the realm of beer.

Saw LotR for the fifth time last night and got to see the Two Towers bit. Like others have said here--very cool, and nine months seems like a long time (course, I'm quite happy to kill some of that time with a few viewings of Episode II).

On to beer: I remember a blurb (US News and World Report, I believe) that Guinness sales were slumping in Ireland because the younger generation looked upon Guinness as something one's dad and grandpa drink--old person's beer. The hip youngsters drink Miller and the like. Sigh, sigh, sigh. After spending a few weeks in Germany, I'd have to make drinking Bud over there a crime.
