[OT] New Year's Resolutions, or "I am Muumuu Homer"

The best advice I can give on New Year's Resolutions is to emphasize things that you want to add or improve on for yourself. Don't take anything negative on (and losing weight is negative) just now. Resolutions to add exercise or physical activity are better, just don't do it concentrating on weight loss as the final goal.

Save that for Lent. For Lent every year one of my best friends gives up pop and eating between meals. And given that most westerners are conditioned to look on that time of year as one of enduring hardship (whether as Christians or by osmosis), you have community support.

My resolution is to find a job.

Negative or not, losing weight is on my list. I've gained some weight this past year and its time to slim down a bit. On the other hand I'm not going to make it negative by making a huge weight loss goal.

In addition to that, I want to build upon the successes I've had this year in RPG freelancing and above all, have more fun :D

Congratulations on your past success; I predict 2003 will be a great year for you. Best of luck! :)

I'm almost in the same boat....

1. I need to lose a few pounds (well, more than a few)

2. I look forward to beginning my RPG freelance efforts in 2003. I'll probably receive a lot of rejections, but I've heard that utter persistance is what gets most folks over the first hurdle. We'll see.

Happy New Year Everyone!
